Channel 4 Undercover - Ford Employees boozin it up

I'm CWA. I work hard everday BUT i must say the union is not what it used to be. They spend most of the time protecting the workers who don't deserve a job than protectig those that do. 90% of the people at my work leave 2 hours before there shift is to end, Who pays for that in the end ? but the union has always been able to save there job. NOW when i was fucked out of my pay for 8 months and the company owed and still owes me 30k the union told me and i quote "Yes the company admits they were wrong, but i'm sorry there's nothing we can do fo you and if you go to the labor board we will make sure you will be spended pending termination" Now with 2 young kids and a wife i'm forced to keep my mouth shut. Where's the justification in this?
Oh my grivence was traded off for we'll drop this grievence if you let this person have there job back. That person was surfing the web at work and having sex toys delieved to work. Grivences are traided of all the time where i work. We'll let you win this one if you let us win that one.
And if anyone can sit there and say there is not corruption within any union is full of shit, Yes im for unions but i'm for a union that protects the rights of the workers not the righs of fuckups who don't deserve a job. There a drain on society and a drain on companies.

My stepfather is a in the CWA. Who do you work for? He hates the lazy bastards he works with. He works for Ameritech/SBC/Michigan Bell/ :lol:

I work in the lovely city of detriot E statefair/hoover garage
Would love to get moved to the burbs, Maybe one day.
Deroits like a hole once you get in there it's hard to get out.

Yikes.

He was out of the Livonia garage for a while, but he has move. I don't remember where.

He was in Southfield when I was a kid. I remember walking the picket line one summer when they were on strike. I thought it was cool. They sat around BBQ'ing and yelling at the supervisiors when they came in and out of the garage. I had a shirt that said "No SCAB's" :lol:

Yea i was trying to get to Southfield, Our last strike i didn't even go.
They decided to strike Fri,Sat,Sun,Mon. They said so the customers would be the least affected by it, but it was so the union didn't hve to pay out of the strike fund.
****NEWS FLASH****
The CWA has a bigger strike fund than All of the union in America combined
 
I'm not going to say what they did isn't wrong, but what proof did they have. Who's to say besides a bounch of people drinking there getting paid to do this. There are days that I'll go to the bar at lunch and not come back when were slow on there spur on the moment. When I do this though I'm not getting paid, but to an onlooker who see's me sitting there with my badge on a nd during normal working hour might think the samething of me. It happens, get over it.

The union does make lazy fucking employees, I sit next to one everyday knowing how much more money he makes then me. I work in a position unlike a plant person where everyone makes the same per hour. For as many lazy union people there are though, there has to be more honest ones engineering and building those car you all love to buy, or sell. SO WHY DON'T YOU ALL QUIT BUNCHING US ALL TOGETHER.
 
Fuck the UAW. Engineers/managers/etc do their four-plus years of schooling (a large majority get advanced degrees as well) and get 100k in debt for their education to make less than some time-clock scammer who couldn't tell you the difference between an FEA analysis and a shot to the balls...that shit will not fly for much longer that's for sure!
 
I am 100% anti union, and do not care who it pisses off.

I am NOT anti union worker! You can never generalize by saying all union workers are lazy, etc that makes about as much sense as Hitler's racism.

However, don’t you union people see that when the union protects certain losers, it is fostering that behavior and bringing down the class of worker on a whole? You do not need a management degree or management experience to know that a company OR union environment can take a potentially good worker and turn them to shit! It happens all the time in union and non-union environments. Sure there are hard working and competent union people (some are probably in this thread), but if you are not recognized and compensated for it, what will make you continue to be hard working and competent? The UAW not only protects the wrong people, it is so greedy that it is literally choking the life out of the hand that feeds it.

The unions cannot go away, because if they did, we would quickly return to the old ways of the worker being screwed. Anyone that does not agree with that statement is either ignorant, stupid, or both. The problem is the current unions are TOO strong, and obviously mis-managed.

Summary: Fuck the UAW. We need some checks and balances to limit it's power.
