2013 deer season

I used to hunt on wagnar lake rd. lots of deer over that way.

i remember alot more deer in the years past up there. maybe they were just bedding down this season because of the weather.

Yea I have not got a deer from over there in along time last one was a very small 4 point back in like 2000!!! The other deer I have got since then were in traverse city

i saw an 8 point and a 10 point hangen in a camp while i was there. nothing came close to me that was even worth shooting this past weekend. im goin up again thanksgiving weekend so well see. im lookin for that buck, but if it gets closer to the end of the weekend, if its brown its down...gotta fill the freezer..lol

Is that private land you hunt on? Or state land?

i have both private and state i like up there. this year i was luckey enough to get a public land doe so im trying to keep it public. lol

The deer herd is definitely down I didn't see much even in the summer. In our county the DNR gives the farmers block permits and each one shoots like 50 deer each. Kinda pisses me off but what can you do.
