2014 Ram 1500 Offers Best-in-class Fuel Efficiency with Industry’s Only Light-duty Diesel Pickup

My dad's '09 just had it's 3rd rusty fender replaced, and 2nd exhaust manifold gasket done. Something was going on with the trans, too. Not sure what it is/was exactly, but it had to be flushed. It has like 105k on it now.

Thats why they make 3/4 ton trucks, to tow with
Then why the hell would they advertising TOWING capability?!?!?!?!?

Hell it sags when I put my open trailer on... I had to put Tiberun towing assist blocks on...

Rated to tow something like 10k #, but the headlights will light up the sky if you try that. My dad had to put bags on the rear to pull a 7k # trailer around. Nice, light-duty truck. I wouldn't plan on towing on a regular basis though. It's just so much better with leaf springs. I don't dislike the Ram - I think it's the best looking of the three, it's the sportiest feeling/driving (especially with the 5.7), however, I think that's due to thin steel and cheaper materials (lighter than the Ford and GM).

A small diesel is a great idea, and it's about goddamn time. I honestly thought there'd be something like this on the market by now.

I just wanted to add that the bigger of the 4 doors is nice, until you have to use the bed. A 5' bed is utterly useless. It reminds me of the Avalanche.

I wouldnt expect to tow 10,000 with a 1/2 ton

Factory ratings are always way out of line for towing

I wouldnt expect to tow more than the vehicles own gvwr

In the f150 my daughters legs were right on the back of the seat. In the dodge she has room to kick.

BULLSHIT! Unless your daughter is 7'5". I'm 6'5" and with the seat all the way back (which there is no way you would have to do that) my knees don't touch.

Yeah until you have to tow something... Then it sucks ass...
That's what I've seen/heard

Sooooo, a 1/2 is only for picking up pillows from Bed Bath and Beyond?

My Eco-boost will out tow and run a Ram all day long.

Someone hook up to Matt with a new ram. Gotta see this! My zr2 aha isn't a ram did not fair well... Lol

Yea, and how many thousands down? If Dodge is doing a low mileage lease on crew cab 4x4 trucks for $150 month, nothing down -- I'll take two.

He also got a 2013 town and country fully loaded, payments on both combined are $400/month. It's about $85,000 in sticker price for both of them. He did trade in a beat 2007 buick they said was worth about $4,000, so if you split it between both vehicles I guess you could say $2,000 each. However you look at it it's one heckuva deal.

I'm really like what Dodge has been doing lately, they've gone from being non existent to a class leading competitor. It's been making my job challenging for the past 6 months.

On another note, automotive companies are in the business of making money. Giving away trucks is doing nothing for the bottom line but increasing the companies the sales number.

My 13 Silverado has a 9400# towing capacity, why do I need a 2500 to tow? The ride with leaf springs is very good even when empty.

Fuck 0-60, I'll drag that bitch the full 1320. Then I'll hook chains and drag it around the pits.

I do like the looks of the Ram, they are really making a name for themselves in the segment, but just as you said, giving trucks away is just one of the many reasons they have gone from Chrysler, to DaimlerChrysler, to Fiat....... You don't build long term value in a truck when you give them away at the start. Ram has a nice truck, they should let the market come to them, instead of begging them to come to them. JMO, I'm just a car salesmen, so if Ford decided to do the same I'll be on board

Maybe there's a market for Stanford Dodge?
