I don't think I need a bypass reg. I've got a pretty tame fuel system on it. I've never ran one before and didn't have any issues. Is it a different situation with boost?

Yeah you want a boost reference regulater on it now. You need fuel to increase with boost.

It's getting there!! Hot side's done and installed, just waiting on wastegate springs. I don't like the header wrap, but I don't want my hood to melt (fiberglass). My buddy's got the cold side piping to weld up for me, I gotta extend my alternator wires, redo my fuel lines, and a ton of other little crap but it's finally coming back together!! I put some new shoes on it too.

Asked around, with a blow through setup and low boost I need a boost referenced power valve to increase fuel. Thanks though! Let me know if you have anything else I might need. Thanks.

are those the elbows Jeff got you?

looks great! header wrap looks fine

Yup. That dude was making me nervous when he dropped them off. He was twirling the cutter for the elbows on his finger right next to my car and I envisioned it flying off his finger and into my car. Seemed like a good guy though.

this is such a sweet build! That header wrap looks pretty good I think, kinda "blends away" the headers with the engine bay since the color is kinda similar (for now anyways!)

Thanks for the compliments. Krazybones said the same thing about the wrap when he was over.

Got the wastegates and dump pipes installed. Just gotta bend up some trans cooler lines, paint the cold side pipes, top off fluids, check it all over and some other small bullshit and I should have this pig running!!

The work is beautiful and this is a really cool project.

I do hope those are small turbos though, because your waste gate priority is really bad. When mine was configured something like that, it made 22psi with the gates wide open.

Just make sure you're careful when you're dialing it in.

What do you mean by priority? Where they are or what kind? They're just ebay cheapies. I didn't realize how big the were when I bought them, and I kinda ran out of room. I don't like where they're at either. I might redo everything next winter and put EFI on it and shoot for more boost. I still gotta get it running and sorted out. I learned a lot doing this and I know I could do a better job packaging everything if I had to do it again. Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it a lot.

And yes, they are small turbos. They were originally intended for a 4 cyl Ford Diesel.

The exhaust gas has to easily take the route of the waste gate if you want the gates to function properly. The way you have them plumbed currently, the exhaust gas basically has to do a 180 degree turn to get out of the gates. Instead, most of it will rush into the turbine housing, even if the gates are wide open. I had this exact same problem before.

If the turbos are small enough, it will probably be fine. If you have an issue with not being able to turn the boost down enough, you'll have to reposition the gates so that they have more "priority" than they have now.

Love this project, would like to check it out in person.
