My 70 Dodge Coronet twin turbo project

Whats heads are you gunna use? I'm assuming a open chamber, its hard to get the comp ratio down in a 440 unless you got some custom pistons made. even with a 12cc dish and 88cc open chambers mine came out to 9.4 to one, running a head spacer with the gasket to get 8.1 to 1 ehh.

wish i could afford a nice set of pistons but not in the budget.

build looks sweet! keep up the work man

It's a 383. Flat top forged heavy ass TRW pistons. Opened up the heads to 92 cc's. Should be around 9 to 1. I have a nice set of ported 906's on there now, but the chambers are 74 cc's and they don't have hardened seats. I did the set I'm using for the engine at work and put bigger valves, hardened seats and opened up the chambers a little. Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it a lot.

I'm curious why you opted for a tube header rather then a log style? Are there gains from the tubular setup?

I always wanted to try building a set of headers, and I talked to Phil (Prick) he said even a shitty header would be better than a good log manifold. I originally was gonna build manifolds though. Prolly woulda saved some time.

Hey Neighbor.... Simply put "AWESOME"

Maybe I will see ya come spring after your hibernation!

Is that "Kong" I see in the background? What is up with that and why is it back in the Garage? You know you dont have time for that when you have a Twin Turbo project going on!

Gotta make I'm sure ahead of you this year!! I have a smaller turbo for Kong thats going on there.

It's finally starting to come together. I've been stalled out for a few days because of defective tubing. Downpipes are done, still gotta figure out where to put the wastegates and where to shimmy the alternator in. I think I have a pretty good idea how I'm gonna mount it. I'm waiting on exhaust flanges (hopefully by the weekend) and then I have to make some adapters on the lathe to make them work. I have a bastard set of turbos that have a 2.5" inch outlet hole, but the flange on the housing is for a 3.5" v-band. Fun fun fun......

Still pluggin' away. Most of the hot side is done, all the pipes and headers are at my buddies right now so I can TIG weld them. I'm still learning how to do it though, so he usually helps. Hopefully all that will be done by the weekend. He's also making me new turbo support brackets on the CNC that'll look nicer than the mock up ones I made.
