According to the list, the out-of-production Viper ACR is now on top, and that was run by a tiny group of people with virtually no budget using two cars supplied by Bernie Katz from the dealer he was working at. Not exactly a big budget operation. And they dropped 10 seconds off the last time the cars were there looking for a number.
Who said it's not demanding and challenging? Though if VIR is irrelevant, why did GM spend a bunch of time there with the ZL1?
I'm sorry, who is it that's assuming?
p.s, like I said, I'm not saying the car isn't super fast and that's not an impressive time. I just find the Ring gamesmanship to be futile. No matter what, if you go to a place like VIR, the course is going to be the same. You can run a car to death there and chances are, you'll get a car to go as fast as it can possible go, and then you might better it on some other day by a tenth or two. People go to the Ring, they get a number, someone else gets a better number, they go back with the same car and drop 8 seconds.
