Brantford, ON — (September 16, 2012) — Empire Super Sprints driver Matt Tanner’s entire racing operation was stolen overnight in Brantford, Ontario. Ohsweken Speedway owner Glenn Styres is offering a $5,000 reward for recovery of the operation $10,000 for the arrest and conviction.

Late news- They have found Matt Tanner's truck and trailer but his sprint car and 4-wheeler is still missing.Everything inside the trailer is gone, and the truck & trailer are both damaged. Matt's 4-wheeler is a '97 Polaris Explorer 400, green in color. It did have NY plates on it
Matt's sprint is a GF1 chassis and the motor was built by Don Ott.

wow wtf is wrong with people cant anyone just leave other peoples shit alone.
Not when your shit is nicer than their shit. Never mind the fact that you worked your ass off to have that nice shit. Our (non-thieves) definition of work is different than theirs (thieves)

At the same race last year a sprint car rig was stolen. They think that one may have been taken to the Six Nations of the Grand River Territory
reservation where they have their own police and outsiders aren't allowed, but I don't think that one was ever recovered. It sounds like the things they have recovered this week were found at the same reservation.

Below is a blog from a writer called "tjslideways"---

Matt Tanner’s racing operation being stolen is not the last straw for me to go to the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals but is likely the last straw for me staying in Brantford, Ontario. Over the past several years I more stories have come out about stolen vehicles in Brantford including a World of Outlaws team’s personal vehicle, an Ohsweken track official’s pickup truck, and two complete race operations during the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals.
The Brant News reported this year that Brantford is still has the highest number of stolen vehicles per capita of any city in Ontario and has been for a number of years. Since they cannot get this issue under control and obviously cannot make racers feel safe to stay in their city I am looking for alternate cities to stay in during the Nationals.

So there is a Winged car sitting somewhere in a garage. Someone must have seen it!

The car was recovered just a few hours ago, the story is still unfolding at this time. It sounds like someone from the reservation stole this car as well, and someone else wanted the 5K reward. They'll get another 5K if the person responsible gets convicted due to the callers tip.
