Started new weight loss / exercise program….

It is a mind game sometimes not eating certain foods.
The longer I do this, it seems the better I get at it.
.

Dairy Barn opens soon. Better fight that temptation!

Good work. That place you are walking at looks interesting. Is that near Main st and North st?

Dairy Barn - When I walk Cabela's, I always go through the Fudge Shoppe, I
call it the "Den of Temptation" My wife eats ice cream almost every day.

She now weighs within 5 pounds of what she did when we were married - she
is looking super fine!

I think I know what building you're thinking of in town & no that is not the one.
The one I use is similar, just north of town.

Ran out of ways to ditch a tenth?

hah no, just a fatass trying to be not as fat!

You Sir are my hero!

What did you do / not do - what was you plan / diet?

Well, I counted calories, which in turn made me drop a lot of carbs from my diet. There is a whole article written up about me here & my journey: http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2015/05/21/how-steve-the-software-architect-dropped-110-lbs/

Today my plan has changed since I dropped the weight. I started SL 5x5 in april 15, did that, and now I'm on a 5 day split

Daily Intermittent Fasting eating pattern

M Legs, 30min cardio
T Chest , 30min cardio
W Back, 30min cardio
Th Rest, 30min cardio
F Shoulders, 30min cardio
Sa Arms, 30min cardio
Su Rest

Each day I do rest-pause for the first exercise, then 2 exercises of 4x10, then 2 exercises of 4x15.

Fun stuff!

Steve, you're the man!

A real encouragement to me (& others).

I really enjoyed the online interview, one of
my favorite parts;

"You cannot out-workout a poor diet."

My doctor stated to me "exercise is for maintaining weight,
diet is for losing weight".

It would seem to me that the best program that
works for you, is the best program you do.

In other words, different folks may have different
workout / diet programs, some maybe better than
others, some may yield better results - but ultimately
the best program is the one you stick to!

I've tried this health / fitness journey before & it didn't
work out very well. I am more committed this time I think
than ever before......and I'm seeing results.

Again, thank you to everyone who has shared their thoughts,
advice & experiences.

You really like to hit the return key, don't you?

Tracking calories makes a big difference. Doing that alone will change how you eat. I started there and I'm still doing it, but found an easy 10 lbs. to lose just paying attention to what I eat and questioning my cravings more.

As someone who used to play a lot of sports and stay fit, the eating has been the hardest part. Finding time to work out shouldn't be bad, but consistency is key. Also, a support group makes things much, much easier. Having people believe in what you do only motivates you further.

Yes I do

I do this quite intentionally, it is much easier to read
a good amount of text when it is "stacked", as opposed
to looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong sentences.

Unless the reader has tracking or an optilexia condition.

I have tracking issues with reading. The shorting the text,
the better and less "losing my place in a sentence" problems
I have.

Nevertheless, its how I write.

Glad your method of writing/typing for others to read is useful to you.

Funny, my point is I'm not the only one.

There isn't an issue with spelling, not an issue with
content, but there is with my sentence structure -
really?

If my posts are so annoying, those folks should
feel free to read elsewhere.

I'm not apologizing for how I write, nor do I
expect others to.

Sentence structure matters; Readers matter! :p

Right, I will NOT apologize for how YOU write :)
J/K. I never had any issues with anything you wrote. Guess I'm not too observant.

I'm just calorie watching right now. Using myfitnesspal to track my intake. I'm 6'3" tall and weighed 244 when I started. I'm at 234.6 right now. My intake is supposed to be 1900 calories but I'm not overly active. This week though I really focused on no sugars or low sugar amounts. According to my app I can intake up to 71 grams a day. I'm not even coming close this week and the weight has been falling off of me. My end goal is to be 200 to 210. I'm starting to go to the gym 3 times a week and doing some cardio for 30 to 45 minutes. Right now though I'm just aiming to hit 10,000 steps every day. According to my app, if I continue to do what I'm doing right now, I'll be 223 in 5 weeks. Which would be nice since that's when I'm going on a cruise and will likely gain 30 pounds.

12-31-2015...........246lbs

1-7-2016...............235lbs

1-14-2016.............235lbs

1-21-2016.............230lbs

1-28-2016………….….230lbs

2-4-2016……………...228lbs

2-11-2016…………....228lbs

2-18-2016…………….226lbs

3-3-2016………………221lbs

Lost a total of 25 pounds in 9 weeks. :1syellow1

My neighbor is your size and is trying to do a 1500 calorie day, wants to be 215 again. Goodluck! About the cruise...i was my LIGHTEST ever when i got off a cruise ship. I ate a lot healthier on that boat than on the mainland. Probably the lack of fast food places on a ship. I ate a lot of fruit and seafood and never really had "lunch"... we were too busy exploring. The pasta salads are probably what you want to stay away from.
