Started new weight loss / exercise program….

The weight loss has slowed down a little. I am still working out
5 to 6 days a week, but I have increased the intensity in the last
week.

Weather is nice, so I'm hitting it harder than ever - only 18 pounds
from target now!

Ryan, how are you doing? Anyone else?

Man on a mission! Amazing what can be done with positive forward movement. Enjoy the process. You are an inspiration.

I started at 244 about 100 days ago. So I'm down 22 pounds so far. All i've done is watch what I eat. no working out or anything yet.

Wow, weight wise you are doing great!

Remember, according to my doctor, " working out is for maintaining weight,
diet is for losing weight".

I just had my yearly physical & my stats are great!
Blood pressure, cholesterol etc. This was not the case
a year ago.

For me to improve my overall health I had to do both diet
and exercise to not only lose weight, but get healthy.

Keep up the great work Ryan!

I rode the bike 27 miles today - I would have rode more, but time was an issue.

Monday I jogged 2,400 stair steps.

Sunday I rode 25 miles on the bike.

Are you guys getting out there & "working out"?

It seems the more I do, the more I want to do.

I haven't started yet. My wife gets a great membership rate for LA Fitness. I travel to Miami for work the first week of June and am at Disney the second. Once we get back I'll be joining the gym. I'm down 25 on just diet changes. Another 20 is my goal weight (205) and would love to get down to 200 if I can.

Amen! Do it while you're younger, the older you get (like me) the
harder it is to do. It takes a lot to stay committed, but its worth it.

In my case, I really have no choice, I have to lose this weight. I am
feeling sooooo much more healthy.

The results are worth the effort.

A friend of mine is a physical therapist and his two cents is to stay active.
The wheels really start to come off when you become persistently sedentary.
My personal goal is to walk/jog 10,000 steps per day, which in my case is around 5 miles.
I did 8-9 miles per day over the weekend and 6-7 per day earlier this week.
There are many strategies for increasing your activity. Even small efforts overtime can pay off.
One example is I park at the very back of the lot at work. When I go shopping I do the same.
Physical activity has a host of benefits but in terms of weight management nothing overtakes diet in priority.
The old saying is that abs are made in the kitchen not the gym.
I'm mindful of my food choices and make an effort to exercise self-control.
Self-control is really all it comes down to - wether you're talking about eating, drinking, smoking, gambling, etc..
I'm encouraged to see you're still at it. It's easy to become distracted and lose what you worked so hard to gain.

I'll come up and ride with you. I finally got out on the open road last Sunday for seven decent miles. Nothing like puttin' in work on two wheels to melt the weight off.

Anytime Jimbo, that would be great.

(I did another 26 miles today).

^^^ Very nice set of wheels.

I am a little worried about what that location might mean though

I'm ready to roll. I usually ride every other day now.

Yeah....I thought about that when I posted it, but it was the only pic I had on my work computer. I bought that Cannondale new in late summer '86. It's been a great bike over the thousands of miles I've put on it. It's vintage, like me....

Did 58 miles last Saturday, just under 20 miles that following Sunday, 8-10 miles each day since and then today 22 miles. If time were plentiful, I'd have done a few extra miles.
