My 25.5 coupe project

Dang Joe!!!!!!!!! That is sick! Cant wait to see it run. Glad you worked through all the BS. It's going to be a nice ride. Congrats

X2 X2 X2 X2 X2 X2 X2 and so on!

The heads are TFS-R, an older set done by TEA. The block is a Dart iron eagle with 4.185" bore, 4" stoke Eagle crank to achieve 440". Custom Diamond flat top pistons and 52cc chambers make 14.5:1 compression. Dry sump oiling system, .780" Comp roller cam, ported Super Victor intake with 1150 cfm Dominator. The motor went 9.26 @ 145 mph with a wet sump in the old coupe at 2960 lbs N/A. New nitrous pistons and alluminum rods are going in this time along with the updated oiling system. Hoping to make around 1100 hp on one fogger kit, but I'm a little nervous about the huge bore and head gasket sealing, since there's not much meat between the bores. I'll probably run the thing naturally aspirated for a while to shake things down, then step it up later in the season.

I worked on getting the trunk painted today. I primed everything and used black/grey trunk paint on the sheetmetal, then masked it off and painted the tubing with silver hammered finish paint. I'll finish up polishing the tail light lenses and repainting the black trim on them tommorow, and get them and the rear bumper installed, then on to the interior.

Man the paint turned out really good Joe! Looks Awesome!

Thanks Dave, and the chassis work ain't too bad either! I actually had some help with the prep work the day of painting the shell from Jim Adams, from painter's supply. I guess he knows you from way back when? We still have a bunch left to do, but it should look pretty decent when it's complete.

I got most of the rear of the car ready last night. The tail lights had seen better days, and the black trim was all faded off the lenses. I used a 3M headlight polishing kit to clean up the lenses, then masked them off and resprayed the surrounding areas with the correct satin black, and the textured plastic on the housings got flat black for a factory look. They turned out awesome! Maybe I need one of those trailer hitches like Reiko's for that hole in the bumper?

I finished up the mounts for the battery switch and fuel pump too. I used plastic snap-grommets to complete the holes next to the license plate for the battery switch linkage on the right, and the parachute cable to come through on the left. I have a nos Ford weatherstrip for the trunk opening to finish it off. Yes I'm picky, but the details make the difference!

I have 2 Powermaster 16 volt batteries, but I may end up just using 1 depending on how the car scales when it's done.
