Lapeer dragway has a new owner

If you have old slicks....the track is asking for them to be dropped off, for track surface dragging

That’s great. I wish him all the luck in the world. This will keep the sport alive for the next couple generations of gear heads we raise.

My son and I are excited to run the car there! Are there any plans for a kart racing site? Sounds silly, but East Lansing is the only other track around. Just a thought.

yay they will be open tomorrow 9am for racers, (use racers gate) and noon for spectators (use spectators gate)

timing system might not be ready....so it could be heads up arm drop racing

And ONLY 8TH mile... barriers are not ready for 1/4 mile runs yet...

Just curious, anyone know how wide the track is from inside wall to inside wall? Looking at the photos it looks narrow but not sure if it's an optical illusion since you can still see a lot of pavement color and not all rubber yet. Looking at photos of my car on other walled tracks it looks like I have a lot more room.

I know for sure it's not close to Norwalks width, Milan looks like it may be close. :dontknow:

Using google 131 and Milan look around 55' and Norwalk around 60' or so.
