Lapeer dragway has a new owner

While i know it isn't *actually* safer to have wider walls/rails, I know I feel a lot more comfortable when the wall is a safe distance away. I want to hit second gear like i mean it and not worry about nudging a wall. That video looks uncomfortably narrow. I wouldnt mind it so much if it narrowed at the big end where safety matters and had some space at the launch.

I’ll have to go check it out and get the lay of the land prior to running there again. I’m not interested in wrecking my car because the track is narrow. Though my car is most definitely not a big dog in the yard, I’m in agreement that the wilder the car, the more they drift around.

I wonder if they would do a reasonably priced three hour Motown Rental on Saturday mornings. Those were fun at Milan until we got priced out of them.

1/4 racing in tower lane today, nice having new lapeer 45 min away

They're doing a great job updating this track. The photos are deceiving, the only thing that's a little narrow is the burnout box, the track is wide enough. Saw plenty of fast cars run it through the quarter without issue.
