Lapeer dragway has a new owner

I can honestly say it could have been in Grand Rapids for all I knew. Now that I think about it I thought Lapeer was by the Palace. Still closer than Milan which is nice.

VanDyke is definitely the way to go. You can stop at the Smokehouse up there and get some venison sausage on the way too.

You need to get out more, Jim. But the Palace IS on Lapeer Rd. :)

I am definitely looking forward to this. I just hope it doesnt turn into a 45 minute staging queue like Milan, i liked being able to get enough passes in to feel "practiced" by the end of the day at Lapeer.

Yeah I am afraid too that it will turn in to milan (1 hour wait time)... my hellcat buddys and I stuck the old surface out to end, now all the people that ripped on old surface will show up

I am sure it will be super crowded the remainder of the year but as time goes it will smooth out. I am looking forward to going that is for sure... Even my dad said he wants too go (even after saying he would never go back due to the old conditions and owner).

The last time I raced it I said I’d never return unless they changed the track surface. I’m looking forward to going back!

I just called out a Grudge Race for Lapeer against my Brother on Facebook. He and I have never ran against one another. I have had my car for 18 years and him for 20 years.

His 69 Chevelle (higher compression all forged, Solid cam, nice AFR Heads, SBC stroker 383, auto, 410 gears)
My clunker 67 Chevelle (low Compression BBC stroker 400 something ci, auto, 373 gears)

my Vert is a few hundred more LBS too

...and he only lives less than 25 min from the track!
