Someone needs to call gregs and investigate.

Well said. I agree 200%. Whether people believe it or not, MM has a HUGE following of people who are silent viewers and rarely/never post. Word spreads very quickly, even from the quiet ones who only watch from afar.

Very true.

This is just f**king sad.
I have bought and sold lots of stuff on here. I wouldn't DARE to consciously screw a Motown guy over!
Out there we ALL have to exercise the "Buyer Beware" mentality whether dealing with an individual or a business. There are always scams on Craig's. Even E-Bay with it's built-in protections has people getting ripped off.
But Motown SHOULD be different. We are all enthusiasts here. We all share a certain bond of either racing, or location, or whatever. This is the one place where we should be able to trust each other. Any time something like this happens it just makes me think there is truly no where safe anymore. It sucks.

X2. You would think that your business would suffer more by not taking care of problems. Everytime someone hears the name Ohara automotive this thread will be in the back of their mind, and word travels faster that anything.

Sounds like they were just at Gregs cylinder heads for a flow test, not a teardown and inspection of heads.? I hate to see his name potentially get drug through the mud..[/

The guy is beyond thorough from my experience with him.

Same here... have probably had him go through close to 100 cylinder heads through my old work. I had him do 3 sets of my personal heads and was satisfied with results. I will say that when I got a receipt it just said "valve job" and the price at the bottom.. thats about it.. and of course.. I dont have the receipt anymore.

I have to agree with others. Im not saying one party is right over the other. It doesn't appear that he was selling the heads knowing full blown they were bad, or going to need that much work to get them corrected. I understand how some others are saying "buy used, no returns, take your own risk" yadda yadda. Yea that's true. But this is Motown muscle. A group of people that are willing to help others out. ive had plenty of help from people on here. Ive also provided help to others. This is the one place I feel that if I had a bad deal..itd be fixed. Just due to the people.

Ive bought and sold tons of things on here. I bought a set of QA1 shocks from LT1Pat, when I went to get them on the car, I found they needed to be rebuilt. After calling QA1 talking to them realizing the cost involved. I got ahold of pat. He didn't even suggest anything else, just said sorry about that, lets swap them back. A day or 2 later, I had my money, he had his shocks, no hard feelings and id buy from him again. HE didn't know they were bad, shit happens. You fix it, make it right, and move onto the next sale/purchase. These are things that make this forum what it is.

I figured I would chime in as I have been contacted by both parties involved. They probably are my old heads as the seller was the one that bought them. you would think it would be easy to assess that but I get 4-5 calls a year from someone claiming to have my old heads. now that being said I sold these heads at least 4 years ago.. I have no idea what or who could have done what in that time.. they where in perfectly usable condition when brad received them as they where still at the shop and assembled just for him.. my dealings with brad went smooth and he seem to be a straight up guy with the whole deal. I can shed light on the fact that they did go to at least two of the shops. dan rawls had them at the time they where sold and where checked and assembled when sold. i also know he took the right to a different shop when he received them just to make sure they where good to go.. I have not had any dealing with the buyer but we have mutual friends as has a good reputation too.. its an unfortunate deal for both parties and I hope they resolve it. I am sorry i was not more of a help in this but like i said before it has been 4-5 years since i have laid eyes on the heads...

I have bought parts here on Motown and I have had no problems. I bought a short block off a member here. After I got it home and tore it down if found that the block was cracked. I contacted the member (i cannot remember the name of the member) told him what i found and he said bring it back. He apologized that the block was chipped and he didn't know it was. I respected him for his decision to keep a good rep and I would gladly do business with him again. Also I would do the same for any member on here. We are like a family here and family needs to take care of each other.

Thats what i thought but i have been fucked by 3 members and not one would make it right...........why not ban the members that fuck other members so they can't come back and do it again ?

If the original guy sold them to Brad and when he sold them they were in fine condition... but now they've gained some epoxy and at least one crack... how does Brad not know this came into being?

The original seller (1100HP) also said he can confirm that these were at the shop when the current seller bought them form him! That was 4 years ago, so does that mean that these were inspected 4 years ago, and have been used for years since? Maybe I am misreading this, but that sounds fishy to me. and that also tells me that these inspections that the seller is claiming don't mean anything except they were in good shape when HE bought them.

that's what i'm getting from all of it. 4 years ago they were great, Brad trashed them and tried to sell them as though they were still in the same condition as when he got them.

i'd bet he thought they were fine and when he pulled them off he found the crack and tried to patch it to keep the deal alive and hoped all would be well. once someone shows that they'll lie to you once, i pretty much assume everything they say is a lie.

I know I haven't been contacted by you about 3 deals going bad..Just saying

I have never been fucked over on something like this and buy a lot of stuff from forums, and have bought a lot of Honda stuff from kids on the internet and never once was I burned on anything. But I would also pay with paypal if anything ever happened to me. If someone wont let you paypal them the money for something, than I would be sketched out. Yes I know there are fees, oh well. Its not that big of a deal, that fee is what insures your getting what you paid for, and if not, you can file a dispute with paypal and if your smart, you charge it to a credit card so you can dispute that if paypal fucks you.
