'67 Lincoln Project

Very small update...but an update none-the-less. I was watching "American Gangster" last night and it sparked a bit of motivation. I changed the oil in the Vic', got the air-ride functioning finally, and figured since I was already dirty, why not fool with the Lincoln?

Without further ado....I prepped the heads and will be taking them in to the machine shop this week.

*Anybody have any suggestions for head work near the east side?? I'll drive a bit for quality, trustworthy work**

Thanks for the link!

I'll give them a call beginning of the week and see what I'm looking at. A place on 10 Mile in Hazel Park was recommended also, "Booth Automotive?" I'll probably call a few places that come recommended and take it from there.

The valve-train is assembled and I'm looking to get everything cleaned up, a valve job and hopefully replacing the guides so I can run unleaded fuel.

Any other tips or suggestions while they're out??

Hard to say what they need until someone looks at them and tears them down to inspect thoroughly.

Never heard of the place you mention, however, that does not mean they do not do good work.

Woo-hoo for parts!!! I'm picking up the pushrods this Saturday and then I *think* the engine will be able to be put back together. There's no telling when I'll get to it, but it should be mobile at some point this summer. I'm excited for this project again!

Major props to Automotive Machine in Fraser for doing the machine work. The heads came out GREAT. I have yet to see how they hold up, but they sure do look purdy.

Indeed great people over there and I already recommended another person over to 'em who's getting work done currently. Price wasn't bad at all and I had them order up all the parts too. Saved me a bit of hassle and dealing with shipping and what not. I also feel better about supporting a local business.

I'm hoping I can ride this motivation wave and get this damn thing running sooner rather than later. :D

Damn, my grandma had a dark blue one like that, in real nice shape. The family sold it for $200 after she passed. My buddy bought it for the 460 then never did anything with it.

Bump

Finally got my ass out in the garage today and made some progress. I want this bitch running/driving in the Spring.

Cleaned the garage to work on the pig:
