'67 Lincoln Project

Thanks for the responses, fellas.

And thanks ASRoff, I very well may take you up on that offer.

I know this car is going to be expensive to restore. But, it'll be a good cruiser once it's all said and done.

Mobsteel car in St. Ignace

Thanks for the replies, fellas. The car does have a ton of potential. Some see it...other do not.

I want to keep it fairly original. I'm planning repaint it the OEM color which is a really light green, almost white. Then slap some fat white-walls on it and probably drop it on air. Should be nice when it's all said and done....just a ton of time and money, neither of which is in abundance right now.

Any progress on this yet? Wonder how hard it would be to swap in a decent running 460. Those seem to run forever and are still cheap.

them mobsteel guys are cool as hell!~ keep us updated on what ur doing what kinda air ride parts are you planing on running?

nice?............yes...........$150,000nice?........Er.......no.

anyone could do the same thing for 25-30 grand.

is that a '69 by any chance?

'Tis a '68 Sedan.

Sorry there hasn't been any updates lately. I still have the heads off sitting in my garage. I need to get them re-done and order up all the gaskets, pushrods, etc. Probably won't get much accomplished with December being such a busy month. But, the plan is to hit it hard beginning of the year so the car will be drivable come spring time. We shall see.

460 swaps are a PITA in the earlier non-460 Lincs. The 462 is a potent engine....just not nearly as mainstream as the mighty 60.

I'm a long way out for air-ride components. But, I'll probably have my dad help me fab a 4-link for the rear and either use the Mobsteel or AirRide Technologies' kit for the front. Like I said...it'll be a LONG way out for that though. If I get the car mobile and the body-work throughout the course of next year, I'll be incredibly shocked.

i say redo the heads get some push rods ,limo tint the windows, paint it flat black and call it a day, can you say gangster ride?

I talked to the Mob Steel peeps that year in St. Ignace. They were high. They gave me a price of roughly $150,000 (around $120,000 for a lot less extreme vert they also had there) and I just laughed. The all black hardtop was sick, but not by any means a $100,000+ car. There were a LOT of small and medium sized details that really needed to be cleaned up. For one was the tint. It looked like a rookie did it all. Interior was nothing special, etc. Granted, I would LOVE to own that car, but I wouldn't pay over $35,000 for it, even if I did have the money at the time.

jhilla, good luck to you on your project! I wish I had the time, motivation, and money to build one the way I liked it.
