2014 Ford F-150 Tremor debuts

R/T is a closer competitor than the Express, but even that is 32-33 MSRP. Some crazy auto journos talking to "insiders at Ford" were saying it was gonna be 25-27k for the Tremor. They wouldn't have been able to keep them on the lot for that price. High 30s for 2wd and low 40s for 4wd, ain't nobody got time for that.

$32,995 for the 2WD and $36,995 for the 4x4. That's my prediction. It's about $4k to go from two wheel drive to four. I can't see that truck with it's features coming in any less.

No price out yet but I walked around one today that the plant manager has been driving. Not worth the money, its basically a parts truck. Only thing tremor ill have is the stickers and badging for my tool boxes lol.

Who drives a Regular cab truck anymore ;)

1. Remember there will be no lease market for this truck which hurts it's take ratio.

2. Regular cabs are for the service industry, just guessing I bet the percentage of personal DD regular cab trucks is in the 30% range. I can't tell you the last time someone came in and said "Hey I'm looking for a Regular Cab truck". It just doesn't happen......at least here.

3. You do know there is a NEW truck coming next year right? Why would for "engineer" a "look" for a regular cab F-150 that is going to be out of production in a year? It's a "Hey lets throw some parts together for the last run of this bodystyle".

I don't understand the price tag then on a truck that according to people in the know is not desirable and is just a parts bin truck. I thought that would help drive cost down.

Ok you convinced me, I won't buy one from you.

That's just it. Why not lower the price and empty the parts bin on an outgoing model.

Needs to be a little lower, 6sp manual trans, extended cab.

I wouldn't want a manual with the turbos. Standard cabs are SWEET.

I would have bought a standard cab Silverado, but the rebates on the ext cab/crew cab Z71s were so great that my ext cab Z71 was cheaper than a standard cab 4x4 v6 silverado.

Found this on the FB lol idk, my buddy had a 010 and he wasn't to thrilled about it, said his 09 dodge was twice the truck. I thought it was ok. But his 13" dodge blows the doors off his old Eco boost.

2010's still had 5.4's.... No you are not going to get big mpg out of a pickup truck... They list 23 on a 2wd, with a highway gear which they will get. I would be more than happy to touch off his new ram anytime... You can even ride with me when I bust his ass! lol

My dad's '09 RAM just went in for service - a full drivetrain service. Upon completion, the dealer decided that they'd deliver it. They blew up the rear end about a mile from the house. They had the truck for the last month trying to fix it. There's some sort of recall on the part that broke, but you can't have it warrantied until it breaks, LOL. They just don't have enough of the parts to fix 'em. Rumor has it that the parts need to be machined to 'fit' properly, too. I don't know any details as I only heard things 2nd hand. Hopefully it makes it to the end of the year without major issues. In 2013, my dad's 2009 RAM 1500 has spent 6 weeks at the dealership. Lol.

I'd just like to add that I don't dislike the truck, its had its share of issues though, lol. It does get used as a truck though - the vast majority do not, IMO.

Do you have any idea what part? Machined to fit? sounds like a fishy story from the service dept.

I really enjoy the look of the new RAMs. they are way ahead of GM. I still like the interiors of the F150s better tho. Ford has a better fit and finish IMO

the 4:10 is interesting..........turbo cars like load...so lower ratio rear ends work better because turbos make so much torque to begin with..... but then again it is a heavy truck... I'd rather see 3:73's......

That's correct trunk were gonna start building the 14's soon and stocking them up cause rumors are 3months nxt summer for re tooling for the 15's. Idk much about them but they will be aluminum supposedly 900-1000lbs lighter, and heard they will be powder coated not paint.

When I speak with my dad next I'll ask, but I think it was something to do with the rear pinion.
I agree with you though, I think the Ram looks the best, while GM is getting worse with every redesign (I think the new one needs square wheels to complete the look, lol). I drove an F150 recently, and it does have a different feel than the Ram. It felt much heavier and solid, despite looking smaller. It felt much more comfortable, too.

Whelp, this sounds like it.

The replies at the bottom are very familiar. "Dealership couldn't get the parts." "Still waiting for parts." They had my dad's truck for 3-4 weeks, because they "couldn't get the parts." Thankfully I wasn't driving it when it happened. I was to be in Ohio with a trailer on the back. Phew!

Just because it's a parts bin truck, doesn't mean the parts are cheap.

Standard cabs are SWEET........if you don't have a family, never plan on going anywhere with more than one person or don't intend on securing anything large in the cab of the truck. I had a super cab and it was too small whenever I wanted to take any of my buddies anywhere. I know I'm 6'5, but try putting a normal size adult in the back seat of a super cab and it's uncomfortable for the rear passengers. My super crew is like riding in a limo, though.

The owner of that eco-boost is just a fucking moron (other than supporting Ducks Unlimited). Anyone that thinks a 5000 plus pound truck is going to to get 28mpg is just fucking stupid. It's a fucking truck, if you wanted something that gets 28 mpg, but a fucking sedan. My truck not driving hard will get high teens into the 20's, but it will NEVER get 28mpg. Sounds like the guy ran into a salesmen that told him everything he wanted to hear. I wonder if he also bought "Extenzes" thinking his dick would grow? :shake:

From everything I've heard it will have much more aluminum content, as for the powder coating, I don't know about that. I'm curious to see how repair work will be handled. I wonder if it's strictly a replace panel thing. If so, that's going make insurance rates go up.

Muhahahaha, awesome.

My brothers ecoboost F150 has had 2 sets of turbos and intercoolers put on under warranty in the last 12k miles...

needless to say, its getting traded in on a new 5.0 mustang instead
