Buahahahahaaaaaaaaa!!!!! Gotta take what you can get eh........

Good! Now the Horns can finally pass Michigan in all time most wins!

For a minute i thought they were gonna start scouting High Schools for a coach lmao!!!

They did. They were turned down by three of those coaches, too.

Don't mind me. Just gathering these up to use in the coming years.

key words: # MSU slappies # Brady Hoke # eat your words # hired # Hokeamania # Gonna give Dantonia another heart attack

That should do it.

Mark, you did notice that SDSU was 2-10 the year before he got there right? You noticed he built two teams from the ground up, right?

Bo Schembechler at Miami of Ohio

1963 5-3-2
1964 6-3-1
1965 7-3-0
1966 9-1-0
1967 6-4-0
1968 7-3-0
TOTL 40-17-3

For coaching at a MAC school, why would UM hire Schembechler? What did he build? Hoke built two programs from the bottom up. Not a bad hire.

Not impressed at all ,do you realize he lost to the powerhouse liberty college this year? both the conf he was in are no better than div 1-aa so not very happy with this at all. let see how DB deal with empty suites and and seats at the not so big house. So much for a National search, lets see they interviewed one guy lol

Wont have an issue filling the seats at the big house. Look at the Lions, they havent had a winning season in forever and fans still go to watch em lose. Everyone has an opinion on the guy and he was just hired a few hours ago.

I am a season ticket holder. I like the hire, Michigans players are happy and the players in the pros have said great things about BH. They know more then I do. I think, You will see the greats on defence from the past coming back to support the program. I will support the program and BH. Go BLue.

From Mike Stone:

First of all let me say that I love Michigan football and I wanted Jim or John Harbaugh, Les Miles, Jon Gruden, Pat Fitzgerald and Gary Patterson before one Brady Hoke. However in listening to the feedback and vitriol over the coaching search, the phrase THIS IS MICHIGAN has made my head spin. The hiring of Brady Hoke fits perfectly with the THIS IS MICHIGAN statement.

Think for a second of what Michigan does in coaching hires. Bo Schembechler begat Gary Moeller, who begat Lloyd Carr which led to Rich Rodriguez. Big names? No. In basketball, the chain went from Johnny Orr to Bill Frieder to Steve Fisher to Brian Ellerbe to Tommy Amaker to John Beilein. What is the common theme here? With the exception of Rodriguez all of the above were not big names. Michigan does not subscribe to the hot name theory. Many thought Schembechler should have hired Bob Knight even after Fisher won the 89 title. Fans clamored for Rick Pitino, sorry never going to happen. The only time they stepped out of the big name arena was for Rodriguez and that was after Miles and Greg Sciano did not work out.

Was Hoke the best candidate? The answer is an obvious no, after all his record at Ball State and San Diego State was a mediocre 47-50. However there is no evidence that he will be either a great or poor choice. Besides the Michigan names I listed above compare the sizzle of the Hoke hire to these guys. Gene Chizik, Brett Bielema, Chip Kelly, Kirk Ferentz, and even Jim Tressel. None of these hires were popular with their fan bases and they worked out fine. Michigan has to hope that that Hoke is the steady and slow tortoise who in the long run will outlast the hares named Miles and Harbaugh. Only time will tell if their fan base will be patient enough to watch the race. If I am grading the hire I give it a B-, which fits the THIS IS MICHIGAN history.

I have no problem with being upset at the way the search has gone on. The 2011 recruiting class may be one of the worst in history. But, realize the THIS IS MICHIGAN cries turn on deaf ears because Michigan is proving that THIS IS MICHIGAN. Fans want to go back to the days of competing for Big 10 titles every year. Well they did it without big names or glitz. The more flashy programs pay big name coordinators over 700 thousand dollars, that does not happen here. THIS IS MICHIGAN, you loved it for 40 years and you may or may not love it again, but the reality is that Brady Hoke is the perfect hire for those who say BUT THIS IS MICHIGAN, because this is what has been done for nearly half of a century…THIS IS MICHIGAN

Um, Mark, they didn't play Liberty. The Aztecs were 9-4. The four losses???

Missouri (10-3) 27-24
Brigham Young (7-6) 24-21
TCU (13-0) 40-35
Utah (10-3) 38-34

The only 'bad' loss was to Brigham Young. Heck, if MSU went 10-3 and lost to Missouri, TCU and Utah, I wouldn't complain.

Justine, I thought Hoke was the best hire. I thought he was better than Miles. Long term, he'll make the team more competitive than Miles would have. Didn't like the RichRod hire. For Michigan, I like the hire. But recruiting will be a problem in the short term and so will the talent. It wouldn't surprise me to see Michigan with a losing record over the next two years.

To me, Miles carried the same aura that DickWad did three years ago. Hoke seems like a safe bet, with some proven programs that he's built, as well as having ties to U of M (that "Michigan Man" bullshit we keep hearing?). If he comes in, builds a team dynamic, and instills discipline in his team without too much distraction, they'll be just fine.

From reading some posts in here, you U of M blowhards wouldn't be happy if you had Bo back. Give the guy a chance, and look at his track record so far. This will make or break Brandon's career as AD here.
