University of Michigan 2007 Official thread

Anybody else going to be at the game sat. I will be there and I might have one extra ticket forsale.

les miles name comes up because he had a clause put in his contract that the only school he can opt out of his contract for is the u of m job and to quote what he said is u of m is my dream job so him being the next coach is very possible

iam going to laugh when UofM wrecks OSU's perfect season, oh wait there going to lose to wisc. also

OSU will probably loose a few this year. But they kicked the crap out of the NCAA DIV AA team they played in their opener!!!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA:bowrofl:

how many people in this thread who are rooting for U of M, actually went to U of M?

BTW: did you hear MSU SPANKED THIER OPPONENT?

u of m... choke choke gag choke gag choke choke

I have been accepted to UM Dearborn, but I have not yet started attending classes due to some unfinshed course work at Schoolcraft I need to complete first. I have always been a Maze and Blue fan, and its always been a goal of mine to earn a degree from there, and I will one day.

Still don't know how anyone can say that this isn't the fault of Carr. I see Mike posted in here, but didn't say anything about this fact. Perhaps they all know now that I was right about this man and are doubly embarrased for Michigan losing like it did, and for being wrong about someone they put so much trust in.

Dude I dont want to hear that fire Carr crap. Llyod is a Michigan man, a stand up guy who cares more than just about football.

People send thier kids to Michigan to play under Carr because they know he will make them into men, and worry about more things that just football.

They will bounce back from this. Carr isnt going to lay down. He may retire after this year, but dont look for it right now. Thats not the Michigan way. They will come back from this, start over. I still wouldnt be surprised if they beat OSU and win a bowl game. Its Michigan, never say die. Its one loss, its not the end of the world. We need to remind myself ourselves, these are college kids, and anything can happen.

Mike made an awesome point:

As disappointing as this loss was.... Lloyd isn't going anywhere unless he wants to. The fucking bandwagon, fairweather fans piss me off. Last year they were 1 late hit penalty away from the National Championship game and a possible 13-0 season. #1 vs. #2, U-M/OSU in a fantastic nailbiter.... sure USC was a letdown, but it was a fucking INCREDIBLE year.

Go Blue!

are you basing that statement on their past OSU/Bowl record? Law of probability says they can't lose them all, but hell, they sure are trying to prove that wrong too. Fact is I'm the furthest from a fairweather fan. I'm a diehard U of M Football fan. Have been all my life and always will be. That doesn't mean that I can't complain because they have an incompetent coach in their leading the charge. You guys keep saying it's only one loss. Hell yea it's one loss. One loss that we shouldn't have even had a possibility to lose. Are you telling me that this loss isn't a huge embarrasement? Are you saying that the fact that these guys weren't ready to play this game that should have been a blowout isn't Carr's fault? Are you telling me that every year we lose one game that we shouldn't lose to isn't a little bothersome? Keep wearing those rose shaded glasses. I will continue to point out the stupidity of that man.

I would also think that the 1.1 mil that Lloyd cashes in from this season would require him to beat division 2 teams.

No. I'm saying that based on my loyalty to the college I love. Call it drinking the koolaid if you will, I just never see quit in that team. Like I said, it's college football, ANYTHING can happen. Just look at this past Saturday.

Calling for his immediate termination is just not right. Carr is a Michigan man, and he will do what he thinks is best for the college and the football program. If that means turning in his hat at the end of the season, then so be it. Leaving right now would do no good for the rest of the season.

Ryan you act like they have not been a success under Carr at all!

Through the end of the 2006 season, Carr has a record of 113-36. Under Carr, the Wolverines have won or shared five Big Ten titles (in 1997, 1998, 2000, 2003, and 2004), and his 1997 squad was declared the Associated Press national champion.

Carr is among the winningest active football coaches in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division I-A).

And its not ALL about football Ryan. Why dont you focus on some of the positive he has done for the school and community. Carr is a great coach, but better yet a great man. He really gives a damn about his players and staff.

I know, I need to get a room with him, along with Darren McCarty, Bas Rutten, and Johnny Cash. But I digress.

Whats to be embarrased about? I still take pride in UM. You cant win every freaking game man. These are still college kids. They didn't go out there and lay down. From what I saw the kids played thier heart out, and almost won. I didnt see anyone give up. THAT would have been an embarrasment.

I'll keep wearing the glasses, I'll keep drinking the koolaid. I'll also continue to focus on the positive rather than the negitive I see in Coach Carr. I have faith they will get it turned around this year. I expect at least 9 or 10 wins.

I just looked up Michigan's all time records for various coaches. Interesting.
The three greatest coaches in Michigan history are considered to be Fielding Yost, Fritz Crisler, and Bo.
Of the 3, only Bo has a better career winning percentage than LLoyd Carr. Interesting.
Here's Bo, Moe. and LLoyd's career records. Interesting.

1969 Bo Schembechler 8-3-0
1970 Bo Schembechler 9-1-0
1971 Bo Schembechler 11-1-0
1972 Bo Schembechler 10-1-0
1973 Bo Schembechler 10-0-1
1974 Bo Schembechler 10-1-0
1975 Bo Schembechler 8-2-2
1976 Bo Schembechler 10-2-0
1977 Bo Schembechler 10-2-0
1978 Bo Schembechler 10-2-0
1979 Bo Schembechler 8-4-0
1980 Bo Schembechler 10-2-0
1981 Bo Schembechler 9-3-0
1982 Bo Schembechler 8-4-0
1983 Bo Schembechler 9-3-0
1984 Bo Schembechler 6-6-0
1985 Bo Schembechler 10-1-1
1986 Bo Schembechler 11-2-0
1987 Bo Schembechler 8-4-0
1988 Bo Schembechler 9-2-1
1989 Bo Schembechler 10-2-0

1990 Gary Moeller 9-3-0
1991 Gary Moeller 10-2-0
1992 Gary Moeller 9-0-3
1993 Gary Moeller 8-4-0
1994 Gary Moeller 8-4-0

1995 Lloyd Carr 9-4-0
1996 Lloyd Carr 8-4-0
1997 Lloyd Carr 12-0-0
1998 Lloyd Carr 10-3-0
1999 Lloyd Carr 10-2-0
2000 Lloyd Carr 9-3-0
2001 Lloyd Carr 8-4-0
2002 Lloyd Carr 10-3-0
2003 Lloyd Carr 10-3-0
2004 Lloyd Carr 9-3-0
2005 Lloyd Carr 7-5-0
2006 Lloyd Carr 11-2-0

Bo vs OSU 11-9-1.
LLoyd vs. OSU 6-6.
That's a 1 win difference if you're counting.

I think it's also worth noting that Penn State was not in the conference during Bo's career.
Notre Dame was not on the schedule until 1978-1982.
They were gone in '83 and '84 and then back for the duration.
That means Bo never played PSU and played ND in just 10 of his 21 seasons.
Slip Baylor, Stanford, and Navy into those schedule slots and LLoyd starts to look very good.
Also, the conference was nicknamed the Big 2 and Little 8 back then due to the weakness of everybody
but Um and OSU.
Reality check over kids. Careful what you wish for.

I by no means think the coach should leave after one game.....I do want to point out that the season is over though. This is a team that was "supposed" to rival the 97 team. The best you can hope for now is a bowl game when they should have been playing for the big game. The season being over after one game has to hurt.

they are showing the game at 21-14 uofM losing we dont look to bad, but that jackson kid is fast as hell he ran past everyone on the field like troy smith/ ted ginn did last yr.

bump for the chat today. Soon, myself and a few others will be the only ones talking. of course that will be because we'll be 0-2 and Lloyd will be the one that the finger is pointing to.
