Here's an interesting thought. Would half of the Rich Rod haters be doing the same if this was Harbaugh? Harbaugh came into Stanford and went almost exactly the same 3 season record that Rich Rod has so far. In fact if UM wins their bowl game, he will have the EXACT same 3 records as Harbaugh did at Stanford. So is Harbaugh really the answer? Or is Harbaugh more proof that a 4th year could be the one that breaks it open for us.

stanford football team doesn't have the history, recruiting or expectations that michigans does. i get where you going with this, but i think things are a bit different between these two schools football teams. when sportscasters are commenting on how cool it is for stanford to be ranked 4th... you know it's a different set of expectations.

I don't disagree with that, but Stanford is also in a different schedule class than UM. There's plenty of variables, but looking at Harbaugh's history I don't think you can say adamantly "Harbaugh's the man, if he was here, we wouldn't be in this situation." Hell I don't think Lloyd would have had more than 5 wins if he would have stayed. I just don't think Harbaugh is going to come and if he doesn't, we had better not fire Rod.

Harbaugh wouldn't have faced resistance from the old guard, and I think his style would have transitioned better. But it's mute point, he didn't have the track record to be hired at the time.

But he had big wins from the get go. He went in to the Pac 10 with USC being the crown jewel and punked them over and over again. He did it at freaking Stanford...a little harder to recruit there.

Not to mention they were coming off of a ONE WIN season when he took over.

You do realize Harbaugh took over a 1-11 team and that RichRod took over a 9-4 team, right? But hey, I'm all for giving RichRod a raise and a long extension.

Harbaugh would get a pass cause "hes a michigan man" Plus he played under BO so he can do no wrong in the slappies eyes even though they cant admit bo was a average coach at best

So the division names are in:

Legends and Leaders

We are in Legends.

WTF

Congrats to Robinson, who won the B10 MVP over Pryor. He also was named to the writers association's All American team as an "offensive back" alongside James from Oregon.

"We recognize our past with legends, and look to the future with our leaders."

Clearly it should have been:

Div a- 'Michigan and 5 little brothers"

and

Div b- "Who gives a fuck"

yeah, finishing 3-5 in the conference certainly would denote that they deserve that Div a title.

Those names, and the explanation, make no sense.

An interesting article on semantics and Shoelace: http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/footba...ve-Denard-Robinson-But-why-w?urn=ncaaf-294680

it's funny you found that. when i was reading some of the all american picks a few days ago, i kept looking for robinson. i knew he wouldn't be first team, but was suprised not to find him even on the third team. maybe having him as a "back" is a good way to get him a deserving spot on the list.

Just you wait buddy. It's only a matter of time before Tom Brady stops playing and comes back to his alma mater to restore the Maize and Blue to tops among college football. And in between Jim Harbaugh will really give Dantonio something to have a heart attack about.

BTW, catch that big chill game? Biggest college hockey game ever.... too bad, so sad for the team from the banks of the red cedar.

Good god I just realized I idolize MSU's program.

I'm still trying to figure out the leaders and legends part. None of it makes remote sense.

Especially next year with Stanford and MSU in the Rose Bowl...

And yes, the hockey game was ugly. But UM did put on a good show.

Eh...We don't have to worry about U of M football next year. DRob will probably transfer and the current recruits like D Hart will go elsewhere. Dave Brandon is messing up by waiting until after the first of the year to fire Rich Rod. I believe they are waiting that long for Harbaugh and it is not helping. If I were Swiftster and the rest of the little bros...I would be burning couches right about now!
