Aren't you glad you didn't pay to see this?

Michigan State Spartans 6 - Iowa Hawkeyes 37

Damn, what a blow out that was! Not unexpected though.

The one that occasionally makes a stop. It's not much, but it's what we have.

On a side note... I give RR one last year to turn this team around to respectable, then I call for his head. This is year 3 and I expect more than this out of him.

well, the game went about like i thought it would.....:icon_roll

this years meltdown, once any hint of even modest competition showed up, is just another example of um living down to it's expectations......:shake:

If Michigan plays like last night, they'll finish 5-7. With their remaining games against Illinois, Purdue, Wisconsin and OSU, Michigan's only hope is Purdue. And even with all of the injuries, Purdue still beat Northwestern. Best case senario? Bring on the Pizza Bowl and give RichRod a 5 year extension... :D

i agree,.........let's def. keep dickrod around. he's changing the competetitve landscape in the big 10 to the point where the league has had to go to another conference to find a marquee team to fill the power void.

As much as I'm not a Rich Rod fan, the offense continues to do well enough. It's much much better than it was 2 years ago or even last year... Denard is still one hell of a player and there is some help around him. But you're never going to win when you are giving up 45 points a game. The defense is pathetic, atrocious, downright fucking DISGUSTING.

Yep, three team race between Iowa, MSU and Nebraska. At least Michigan should be able to beat Minnesota to stay out of last place.

Alright I'll put my real predictions in now

Sep 4 - Vs Conn - Home - Won
Sep 11 - Vs Notre Dame - Away - Win
Sep 18 - Vs Mass - Home - Win
Sep 25 - Vs Bowling Green - Home - Win
Oct 2 - Vs Indiana - Away - Win
Oct 9 - Vs MSU - Home - Lose
Oct 16 - Vs Iowa *HOMECOMING* - Home - Lose
Oct 30 - Vs PSU - Away - Lose
Nov 6 - Vs Illinois - Home - Win
Nov 13 - Vs Purdue - Away - Win
Nov 20 - Vs Wisconsin - Home - Lose
Nov 27 - Vs OSU - Away - Lose

I say 7-5

Annnnnnnnd I'm still perfect on the season. Both with the Lions and the Wolverines.

Only thing that made me feel better about that loss was the MSU CHOKE FEST. Fuckin' Spartans.

And then you picked UM over Illinois....LOL! I'd rather see MSU's collar get tight in one game than have them do a SOS (Same Old Spartans). You know, win their first five games and then lose their last 7... I guess Michigan will become SOW! Same Old Wolverines...

realistically, um's not far from their inevitable return to glory. i'm just getting gettin' my licks in while the gettin's good. you guys would do the same thing.....

Got that right. Way too much money in that school, too much invested in that program, and too much pride over there to take anything less than the best. Dick Rod is going be buh bye as soon as Michigan finds a better coach. Quote it.

MSU will once be little brother again, and the OSU vs UM rivalry will be restored soon enough, and all will be right with the world. Until then I'll be licking my wounds and giving Ryan a steady diet of shit for being a Rich Rod lover.

Fuck OSU, go BLUE.

True. I guess it's a toss up for last place.

I want to say if they fire Rich Rod Michigan's D could see a fast turn around with the right coach too, but I'm pretty sure the cupboard is actually bare. It isn't a situation like Cosgrove and Callahan at Nebraska where they had talent and just had no idea what it meant to play defense and Pelini came in and turned guys that were already there (Suh, Crick, the entire secondary) into stars. I'm pretty sure whoever replaces Rich Rod will have to hit the Juco trail hard if he wants to have a defense on the field his first season or two.
