And you are absolutely correct. Why has MSU been subpar? Simply poor coaching selections since Duffy retired in 1972. And when they have had good coaches such as Darryl Rogers or Nick Saban, they let them go without a fight by not having a willingness to pay the money. I honestly think Saban stays if MSU matched LSU's contract offer. The difference now? It's a willingness to go for the ring and pay the price for it. And because of that we have an extremely good coach, fantastic facilities and it shows in recruiting.
With Hollis as the AD, the school has dedictated itself to winning championships in basketball, football and all other sports that they participate in. The basketball programs are there. The football program is getting there. The hockey team is getting there. The volleyball team has constantly been near the top of the Big Ten (Penn St is the best program right now).
I'm happy where the MSU football team is at. They've seen a yearly increase in talent and have built a solid program. MSU is in the mix for 5 star players which hasn't been the case since Saban left. The Spartans are arguably the 3rd best team in the Big Ten behind OSU and Iowa. If they focus and somehow beat Iowa, they have a chance to tie OSU for the conference championship. The Iowa game will be huge. Can Michigan say the same thing right now?
If I comment on Michigan, it's an honest assessment as I see it. Does Denard Robinson scare me? Absolutely. But I still think MSU comes away with a victory. MSU looks at this game as 'The Big One' on it's schedule. The coaches still remember the 'Little Brother' comment and still want to kick UM's ass. Many UM people don't consider this a rivalry. And if that is the case, I'm sure you won't mind if we win our third in a row.

Now I know osu has a hard enough time having their players pass phys Ed so let me draw this out in sidewalk chalk for you. If he was last on at 713 it's a physical impossibility that he could have responded to your 730 post. Now of you want to start crying have at it. Thats what you typically do.
