When did you become a MM????

The poor grill took a beating, much like your truck was taking around then

She feel hard for sure. That bed took the grill fall, my buddy doing a dirt bike burnout on the line-x bed and the nitrous bottle blowing off in the 100+ heat before pinks lol. Ohh, and I forgot about the ThunderStang's stock motor breaking loose and rolling around on the way to dispose of it lol. The bed still looks good, the power steering lines and the rocker panels... not so much lol.

So many memories but some that stick out for me:
Hibberd getting Tuna arrested for the slowest street race ever.
Driving home from the Power Tour stop in Illinois with Hibberd, Harlan...I think Indy and watching all 3 of them walk away from me while I was doing 150.
The Supra Paul nitrous bottle fiasco.
Coney Island with bowling shoes and pizza sauce.
Banish saying " Don't do that, ever" to Harlan on the dyno
Reiko trying to kill himself, me and my Ranger
Trying to get myself stabbed at CMU
Getting a push start in my bad-ass Escort
Hibberd putting on a nametag at Dave and Buster and trying to convince them he worked there
Driving high speed as a group on the way somewhere (I think M6)and coming upon an unsuspecting Stenod (not yet named Stenod) and Kevin.
Multiple Captain Flannels at Halloween.
My Trans Am self driving into Scotts garage door after a trans swap.
And of course, absolutely destroying the eldest offspring of Mr. Linehan in a cheerleading competition at the dream cruise lot.

Some excellent recalls Eric. :) The first call out on a Supra Paul memory gets bonus points. :) M6 was a great trip for sure. I think I still have an M event CD some where with some fun races on it. I believe the Bamfords made a few "recorded" passes that year lol. Yes, Katie still admits that Eric has the moves... but not the knees lol. These are some of the fun stories I was hoping would show up for people to add the commentary on. :)

Thanks Rick, appreciate that. Fingers crossed we can have a Woodward event for those who want to participate. Having a car to wrench on again is fun, but most of my time has been spent with the kiddo so far this year.

I don't even know how long I've been here. I know I use to post on the "old board". (where the fuck is that thing?) I found out about MM from racing via the 209 racing guys, Erik aka 8URZOH6 was friends with those dudes, LT1Pat, Sean (LTLHOMER), and laydown racing. Between that and meeting Reiko via ProjectPat (RIP) at Tele, getting a job at Roush Racing, it all kind of came together around the same time for me.

2002 maybe?

It's always great to see all you guys doing well and I'm happy to see the crew going through the joys and challenges of being a parent. :) Some excellent names from the past and still doing things with Reiko, Erick, Pat and Sean. It's been fun watching Sean's latest project getting down with the yellow paint. It's good to see glimpses of the guys helping out on that one.

I don't remember what year I came on board, it was a different screen name at the time. Lots of good memories! I remember Whirlyball!

Don't let Joe fool you. He may appear to be quiet but... I was their the night that the "I like pie" quote came out. lol A certain south side bar pre game warm up before the Pinks All Out event at Milan. He dominated that pie and still raced the next day. :) I on the other hand did a 720 using all of the lanes on telegraph on the way home to LO in the rain on angry Nittos lol. Ford 9" rear end for eventually finding the way north with me letting go for the ride. :)

I also forgot to mention... does anyone remember a certain young gentlemen climbing a parking lot light pole at the red roof inn after the pinks race???? :)

I did see some mention of the "superball events" and that was a classic MM M-event thing. So for those that don't realize, the guys at the C Z28 Forum we're early supporters of the car forums they helped out MM as it was forming up. They used to run the "M" drag race events up at Stanton annually and we'd all go up to enjoy the track and the event. Staying in an hotel close to the track was cheap and saved a few hours driving the day of the event. The breakfast joint across from the hotel had the "classic gumball machine" with super balls. We bought a ton of them and proceeded to launch them into lunar orbit to the tunes of whoever was playing across the street at the Ionia Free Fair. lol.

By the way, I saw a certain young man that drives pretty much everything... because he can. He's lurking. :) How many people have the balls to drive a Ford ThunderStang built by mostly GM guys? True a couple of Ford guys stepped it to fix a few... errr important items. He makes a test pass in an industrial parking lot and then hangs the wheels at Lapeer "before it was hookable", locks the steering column in front of a rail car and hit the brakes before he cuts the car off at the line??? The guys at the starting line was more than a little impressed that day lol. Diagnoses after we looked at the steering column and header clearance.... we forgot to cut the steering column slider lock out after we striped the column. Solution, zip tie the lock. Driver... "Is it ready???" Pit crew... "We think so". Driver rails the last nitrous pass before the race and we work on tuning the engine the rest of the day. :)

I guess I can be lumped in with the bunch that came from the CZ28 clan early on - migrated over here from the Michigan section of that board back when MM was running an earlier version and a bit different than now. I think the current board started in August or September 2003 and then I re-registered again shortly after.

Ahhh, the superballs... I guess that the statute of limitations has passed now Rick so we can be honest. Whoever serviced the superball machine last left it unlocked and as I was looking at it I realized the lid could completely open. After walking around back to where everyone was gathered after dinner they were getting passed out and I think there were others that made a few trips back to the machine. I still have one or two of those things in my toolbox back in the US. What a fun evening that was. I seem to remember being back in a certain hotel room and saw some interesting things... Dave, weren't you the one stripped down naked and in the bathtub?

It had to be right at the beginning, if you weren't a "founding member", you (and Denny) were damn close.

It really sounds like Motown Muscle is waaaaaaay
overdue for a simple, casual get together?
