What kind of long term projects are you not working on....?

I'm not sure why I didn't do this 20 years ago... I cut some SBF water pump bolts and slotted the bolt heads to make guides. This way all I had to do was drop my intake manifold straight down and not worry about lining gaskets or bolt holes or screwing up the bead of sealant.

I need someone to help me out with rust repair on my Dodge.. since I ruined my shoulder .. I won't be able to finish the repairs

Figured I would share as this has been a project I should have finished a few years ago... Anyway I am getting close.

1950 Pontiac 2 dr coupe I traded for a 71 Dodge Monaco. Initial plans were to just fix the floors, clean up the bay and drive it. Well...

I fixed the floors (1st time attempting floors so go easy on me, Had to make the rear panels and rocker - LOL)
Main stuff.... patched the firewall, fresh 327 SBC (camelback fuelie heads), 700r4 (was a glide), New shorter Driveshaft, disc Brakes all around, 8.5 3.73 G80 axle out of a 4x4 s10, new glass, visor, tall whites, etc...
Getting close! Still need to swap the rear axle and the glass.

(This car is intended to be a daily driver of sorts, not a show queen and let my kids drive it)

Other than rebuilding the trans with a buddy of mine, I have done everything myself and trying to get my son to help.
John - Dragula and Gary - grr456 have offered to help countless of times but I still refused help cause I wanted to get it done by myself.

Engine bay is done, I wish I would have ran new brake lines (still might as they have not been bled yet), but ehhhh... supposed to be a beater DD.

Finally finished the Prius EPS (electric power steering) swap. Ran a dedicated 30a circuit to the motor from a circuit breaker mounted by the battery. Modified the stock column, added the motor and hid it behind the dash. Usually people mount them and you can see them, I did a little extra trimming and reclocked the motor to index it better. It was a tight squeeze but I don't have to worry about a power steering pump or fluid anymore.

Got the "new" Mach1 seats reupholstered a while ago, finally got them installed in the car.

I was bleeding the new Cobra brakes and was having trouble getting fluid to one wheel, the damn bleeder wasn't completely drilled out, go figure.

Still need proper lug nuts and the sweet bullet caps I want.

First time the tires have hit the pavement in a while. Lol

Got the rest of the interior sound proofed. Installed the headliner and rear trim. Need to cut/modify a piece, toss the last few screws in then that's done. I'll eventually recover the seat and add carpet. Now I'm reworking some wiring to relocate the unsightly Ron Francis wire distribution center and building a PCM mounting bracket to consolidate everything.

Later this winter I'm redoing the bed wood. I have all the stainless strips, still need to buy wood and decide on a stain.
