Turbo Fox build..

Heres the latest: moved the engine from the garage to my living room! Got tired of having to heat up the garage every time I wanted to work on it. Measured my oil pickup/pan clearance today. Was only about .200 off the bottom of the pain. Since switching to main studs, the HV oil pump was hitting the front stud, so I needed to clearance that. And the pickup tube hold down needed to be drilled out bigger to allow the tube to go down further. .500 is the recommended clearance so thats where its gonna be.

I can get a 1000hp rated one from Unlimited transmission for $1200 without a SBF bell, anyone have any experience with Darrel?

yes i have and he is a great guy to deal with and stands behind his work.........i bought the th400 good for about 700-800hp.......it came with a 6 month warrenty,,,,and he fixed it after the warrenty was up for free..
and it took him 2 days......it was my fault for not having the cable adjusted right..

Got a bunch accomplished today. The oil pump/pickup is on and red loctited, and the pan to pickup clearance is good now. Tossed the oil pan on too. I think that its a Canton oil pan because the pickup has a Canton Part # on it. Bought a 10AN fitting from jegs and welded it on for my turbo drain.

Per AFR specs on a 1/2" stud the torque is 110 ft lbs, so I just did it in 4 steps 50,75,100,110. Got my pushrods in the mail from Trend this week, and got a smoking deal on a set after talking to the guy at the swap meet last weekend. So here it is with them installed along with my Scorpion 1.6 rockers. I'm done for the day now. I have a set of valvecovers on order, and need to set the lower intake on and check the port match. Maybe tomorrow for that stuff

Wow , Its crazy how close our motors are, only real difference are that I went with trickflows and a dart block

Everything is looking great. I dig this build. I'm biased tho, I've always thought your car was a cool ride. keep up the great work!

i envy how fast you make progress (and order parts lol) this is going to be a sick car, 1k hp in a street car is insane.

More parts. Mezeire WP

Valve covers came in, and I welded some baffled breather fittings in. My Aluminum welding skills are far from great, but I just hope it sealed..

And I sold my AOD, and stepped up to a TH400. The color is great isnt it? It's built by ATD/Hipster and apparently his color tastes are from the hippie days. I'm going to paint it the same color as my engine.

Picked up some forward facing turbo headers today from bad302. Thanks for the hookup Steve! My original plan to flip a set of shorties failed. I obtained some MAC 1 3/4's from a friend and the fitment was absolute shit, the passenger side primaries didnt even come close to lining up on the head. Not sure if they warped from sitting for so long but they are literally a 1/2 inch off. Then I was gonna just do some 1 5/8 BBKs that I got from the same friend but noticed that there was a nice sized crack near the collector. And after trying to obtain numerous sets of Ford Motorsport headers and either getting stiffed or not finding a set in good enough shape I just decided to get these. I figure between the fab work for me to add the V-bands and then getting them coated I would be close to what I could get these for and they will fit the Crossover that I bought from Steve last fall.
These seem to fit great, minus the fact that I need to get some 5/16 head bolts. The 3/8 head doesnt leave enough room to get a wrench on them.

I LOVE the fact that this build is happening on hardwood floors! And the G/F is happy with it.

Haha. We are actually redoing the kitchen at the same time and the floors are going to get sanded down last sooo.. and she is very supportive. She knows what kind of activities put my mind at ease
