i cant wait till the little E30 is almost as fast. all motor cammed S52 is the plan eventually. should put down around 280whp. best part is that it will weigh roughly 2700lbs with me in it. im a big mustang fan, especially the round body SN95's. but BMW's are my all time fav. :D

i believe thats the head a friend has. he likes it, but after about 2 years it sometimes loosens up on him. the legs however, i've never had any experience with.

i have the 488RC0 head, and i would buy it again without hesitation.

BUT, i would not get the RC0, i would get the 488 ball head, with the RC2 quick release. its much smaller and easier to use. i have a giant scar on my right hand, so the RC0 is really somwhat awkward and it pokes me. although at the same time, was was used to shooting what i have, rebel with bg-e3 grip and the RC0 QR. i was used to it and ok with it. but i've had to change how i shoot altogether after i cut off my right index (shutter) finger last september. its still not even close to 100%. its really not that easy to shoot without my tripod anymore. haha, i use my middle finger to do almost everything because i have little to no feeling in my index. :D

i alsot have these legs.

my tripod is bulletproof IMO, and i think i spent $280 out the door at ritz. the 488 ball head is rated to 17.6lbs. i overbought that bish on purpose. i went through 4 cheap tripods in 3 months over the summer of '07.

thats all i've got. but my BEST advice. dont cut any digits off, ESPECIALLY the index one you use the most. and if you do happen to cut it off, dont use a 20 ton log splitter. use something sharp so you can re-attach the other end.

So, its 150whp more useless? Big, fat tires are your friend Mr. JDM stretch!

thanks for the help on the tripod!

The guy that has the neotec/head also has a well used gitzo studex with ballhead that he said is still rock solid and would sell for less than the neotec (like $250 vs. 300).

Since gitzo is one of the industry standards im assuming ill just go with that instead of the neotec.

I need to start looking for a tripod and head. I think I'm going to need two. One for weddings that I wont care as much if someone knocks it over and a nice carbon fiber one for traveling with and what not. Well all with time of course.

yeah, id love a carbon fiber one but the only way i could get one now is if its used (lower price) but nobody gets rid of them because they are so great so you cant find them used...

so I just went to check out the neotec (bogen) tripod with grip head. neither were to my liking. the head was huge and bulky, the tripod was heavy and seemed a bit gimmicky like it wasnt going to last long. the legs on the tripod are also coated in a fine grease so just touching them and then a camera/lens wasnt in my favorite things to do.

The gitzo he had was old and heavy, i also passed.
