yeah, we'll have to do it. i've been real busy with school and work lately though. i finally found some time to go downtown yesterday. prob wont have another chance for a while. we'll have to talk though.

Dane, I know you posted which glass you usually shoot but I dont feel like sifting through all the pages, was it the sigma 10-20mm??. The comerica shot and guitarist above are super nice!

Im looking at getting the 10-22mm canon for super wide shots. I almost never take my 24-70 f2.8L off my camera as it is now, but do you guys think the 10-22 would be worth it over say the sigma 10-20? I heard and read some not so good things about the sigma but i guess everyones a critic so i take it with a grain of salt. some say the sigma has soft edges, i dont see it in your pics at all!

I guess my goal is to have just about all bases covered with lenses. id like to get the 10-22, i already have the 24-70 and then get the 70-200. Thats about all the range id need for what I do but ive never delt or used much of the super wide stuff so im not sure if it will be used much for the investment.

I cant speak from expierence cause i do not own one. But from the picture archive threads of each lens there is really no comparable difference at all in IQ between the canon and sigma. OF course with the canon it goes to 3.5 and the sigma 4 but that isnt a really huge difference. So id say your prolly golden with whatever one you buy.

I will make a suggestion though taht is worth checking out. Ive herd a few people say they have liked their 11-16 F/2.8 Tokina lens. The 2.8 is very nice and useful as you prolly know shooting with the 24-70 and 70-200(saying your 70-200 is the 2.8 version). And that 4 mm on the zoomed side of things that you loose from 11-16 to 10-22 is fixed by taking about one step forward...

So, id say its worth looking into for sure! Ive seen some very very amazing pics from all lenses.... Ill share some of my favorite for you...

This is a pic from the Tokina 11-16 f/ 2.8

This is a pic from Canon 10-22 f/3.5-4.5

Last but not least... The Sigma 10-22 f/4-5.6

So you can see for yourself, the IQ and color and everything is very nice on all the lenses....

Hope that helps you out at all...

That's a tough call, I've never used any of those personally but that 10-20 is a nice lens. Here is an example of a friend on Flickr. I'm loving the colors.

thanks guys!

I do like the pictures above but I gotta say the canon is just perfect (of course its shopped). i do like the fact that the tokina is fast (2.8) but its not the end of the world.

price wise im looking at:
Tokina 11-16: $600
Sigma 10-20: $430
Canon 10-22: $690 (ritz wants $830 )

I just dont know if the $260 price jump from sigma to canon is warranted.

My suggestion is go with the 10-22. Primary reason being that you shoot with a 50d. The cheaper lens flaws show up more and more as pixel count goes up. I had to get rid of my Tamron and Sigma for the 5d mark2 because you could see all flaws. I can hardly stand my 100 mm macro and my 50mm 1.4 anymore. I primarily shoot with my 35 and 135 primes.
