RAM TRX unveiled 702hp

FCA is quickly becoming a one trick pony. Throw a supercharged V8 in everything and ride out a body style for as long as possible. Curious as to Ford will counter this, if at all...

Why would they change if it's still working? When people stop wanting them, FCA will make something new, but America always has loved overpowered cars that go straight fast.

On paper, this looks like a pretty capable truck. I would still most likely choose the Raptor, as it has 10 extra years of development under its belt. I want to see the TRX and Raptor go head to head for Baja and Off-Road events.

Bingo. Their 12 year old platform challengers still often outsell the much newer camaro.

12? There were talks of that platform when I worked there and it was still called DaimlerChrysler in 1999. But I agree, if you are going to be a one trick pony, just make sure it is a trick that everyone loves! And they do!

12,15. not much difference at that point is there?

They are pretty sick trucks, sticker price didnt really shock me though. I think they put alot of Research and devlopment on this TRX.... We will see how it holds up with the raptor...

What do escalades start at 77k?

Everything is stupid expensive

Rather have a dune truck going 12s in the 1/4 mile also

Nice truck, not nice base price of $71k lol

Have yall looked at how much new cars cost now?

GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4x4
Base $40,290
Cheapest 5.3L $42,490
Cheapest 6.2L $54,790
Cheapest 6.2L Denali $63,185

Soooo $71K for 700hp off road beast isn't that bad.

Basic Crew Cab Raptor is $58,135, loaded $76,815 and its only a V6 :P.

I wish this replica baja truck fad would go away and we could go back to muscle trucks. Just give the muscle trucks a decent tow capacity (they did not before) and it would be sweet.

As for FCA putting the Hellcat engine in everything, well if GM put the LS9 and current LT5 engines in more things, I think they would be in better shape and the Camaro would not be on life support. Shit with the Camaro and the LS9, they could have beat the Hellcat to the punch. More shame on GM!

Only the 90k option for the first year for this mall crawler..

Do I wish Ford would up the Raptor HP.. Yes.. Is this HP useable at all on the street in a truck with no weight on the rear.. No..(A 3.5 F150 will blow the tires off on the street)

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which comes in a short-bed, crew-cab configuration, is also available in a limited-run Launch Edition, of which only 702 will be made (get it?). The Launch Edition, which costs $90,265, comes only in Anvil Gray paint and the top-trim TR2 interior. That interior option includes a head-up display, Ram's first, as well as optional TRX red stitching and carbon accents.

With that starting price above $70,000, the Ram 1500 TRX costs $13,555 more than the crew-cab Ford Raptor, which starts at $58,135 for 2020.

Willing to bet LOTS of people would pay the $13K just for the V8 blower noise. Plus the 4x4 locked 4500RPM launch mode on the TRX is SWEET on the street.
