OK, Another "Would You Trade For This?" THREAD... Thanks in advance for your opinion!

Keep the stang. The 109 blocks are a PITA at that power level. To run 9.90s it would have to be set on 35 psi kill mode.

And Bamford has gone 9.2's with his stock block and a 70 mm turbo.

As much of a g body guy as I am, I agree here. That stock block might go 9's, but for how long?? IMO you're playing with fire pusing a stock block at those levels.

GN's are one of my favorite cars of all time....but I would not do it. He would be coming out far ahead on this deal IMO. I'd sell your car, and buy a GN if you really want one.

As much as Id give my left nut for a GN that nice....keep the notch! Thats one bad mofo you have there.

I posted one of these up not long ago and got some really good feedback from my fellow Motown friends.

Here's the deal - right now I have my notchback up for sale. I'm thinking I just want to get rid of it, but then I get an email from a guy wanting to trade me for his Grand National. Well, I've always had a weak spot for those cars. Love 'em! Especially if they are really clean and at least somewhat fast. Well, this guy claims this GN is a high-9sec car and the car looks really clean. I'm waiting on more pics from him, but until then I just wanted to see what you guys think.

Some Parts on this car - its a 109 block with billet capps j&e pistons coated crank and rods. alluminum gn1 heads worked with roller cam.precision 6765dbb turbo with xfi tuned by cal heartline with thumb wheel to switch from 4 tunes antitheft, pump gas, alky, and racing gas,new trans with transbreak by extremeautomatics.what kind of motor work has been done to your engine.botomend and heads and cam.

It is a really clean car with a $7k paint job on it. I'm just not sure if it would go as fast as he claims. Furthermore, how fast can you go on a 109 block before you break it? I've heard Bamford has a street GN that goes low-9s on a 109block, but that may just be a rumor.

Would you trade my white, high 8sec turbo notchback for this car?

YES, you will have more FUN in the GN it is a cruiser that you can load the family in and besides you already have a race car..and not to mention how you have always wanted a GN

the turbo V-6 to your turbo V-8. It just won't feel the same. You'll want more than it goes boom. I put a vote in for No trade.

Pretty amazing. I should have started a poll on this one. I would say its pretty near half who say keep the notch and the other half say trade... I talked with the guy yesterday and we said that we would talk one more time this week.

Here's the thing, it seems he is looking at this as an even, straight-up trade. If he keeps this perspective, I can definitely say I won't be trading.

Again, I appreciate all the feedback. At the end of the day I gotta do what I want to do in this, which I will do. But, this has been a good process for me to get the different perspectives from all of you. I appreciate your input.

NO!!!!!But I would trade it for a 2000 cobra that is 25.5 caged that may be pretty fast and built very well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:sagrin:

Its ok, I did some serious "traction testing" on the road into my place...... How many years can we say we still had our cars out after thanksgiving? Unheard of!!!!! Had to have a last hoorah!!!

Rudy

too bad my last hoorah was right in front of your place hahaha

You dont know much about the national as far as how well it was built. You know your car inside and out. Id keep your car. its pretty sick

Pretty much what I was thinking. If you're strapped for cash and it needs to go though, I'd just sell it. It doesn't sound like thats the case if you're considering a trade though.

I'll throw my .02 in.

I would consider the trade considering you already have another Mustang. The Buick is a totally different car. 8 sec. Mustang, 9 second GN, they are both quick cars.
Comes down to preference. They both seem to be nice cars. I dont think you'd regret it.
