I have been looking for a while but after talking to a buddy one day I found out there was a 67 mustang in a garage two streets over from my house... Not sure what I was in for since the car had been sitting for last 15 plus years in a dry garage. Who would of thought a car I wanted for so long was right in my back yard.

Guy original bought it for his wife, they split he got the car and took the 289 auto out and replaced it with a built 390 that has been broke in but no miles, it's balanced and blue printed, bored .60 over, edlebrock performer RPM heads and intake, comp cams 292H with 560 lift, Demon 850 carb, MSD distributor with 6AL setup, Hooker ceramic long tube headers, Aluminium radiator and Canton Oil pan, says it' should be around 475-500 hp...has a shatter proof bell housing 4speed top loader, with Hurst shifter and centerforce clutch all rebuilt with 0 miles the rear end is a 9" out of a Lincoln Versailles with Wilwood disc, 31 spline axles and Detroit Locker with a 390 gear also fresh with no miles
It's originally a California car and spent all of it's 20 years in MI in a garage. The original floors and quarters, front and rear suspension all new.

So the plan now is to shave drip rails, cowl vents and flush out tail lights, weld up all the emblem and trim holes and roll all the wheel lips, running 18x8 18x10 kind of a FR500 style wheel with a fat rear lip. Headlight buckets and quarter extensions are getting bonded and smoothed into fenders and quarters. Then comes all the bodywork straightening and sharing up all the body lines.

Car is going like a True blue metallic all the stainless will go satin charcoal or black, may do a satin charcoal super snake style stripe. Interior is gonna be the full TMI R Sport setup with the one piece suede headliner image.jpgimage.jpg

So the car was built to do down the track and cruise but I'm adding the protouring look to that. Can't wait to get going on this. Still got a little time before I can really start digging into it but I can at least start on all the body mods and getting it ready for paint!

Nice coupe! We are just finishing up my Dad's '68 California Special. Gotta' love the early Mustangs!

Nice car looks like a good start for your project. That FE motor should run good too in that size car.

Had some down time, but over the last few months have been making some headway, drip rails are shaved, all the emblem holes welded and smoothed... Started all the tedious flushing and gapping and straightening the body out.... More pics to follow image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

New tail panel with shaved tail light bezels to flush out tail lights... Was not a fan of the fiberglass shelby decklid so cut and made my own went back to the steel one and combined, notched the spoiler to change the look up... Quarter extensions were bolted, bonded and smoothed into quarters ... Picked up a maier racing fiberglass smooth rear bumper and gapped and flushed it into body as well... Working on passenger side now...hope to get it into poly so I can get lines tuned in and final prime to get it into paint by Spring.... Fingers crossed .... image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

Also was not a fan of how the hood to cowl looked... So Transitioned the body line into cowl so it all flows now... It's a short style 67 shelby hood and picked up a one piece cobra nose from Cobra Automotive so the headlight buckets are all molded in lower valance ... Still need to fit and finish that ... But it's getting there image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
