My Turbo Install Thread

glad to see after i left you were still gung-ho tony. Keep it up, as the parts find themselves back on the car you'll become more and more giddy i'm sure.

I definately would have just pulled the whole thing out to do the work.

Looks good
I definitely would have if I had a lift.
That thing is going to be wicked!
Looks good Tony!

:rockwoot:

Way to make some progress! I will have to check that bad mofo out once its done!
Thanks guys! I am getting closer!!!

Cool! Hope you get it out this year.
Oh it better be back out this year. My plan was to have it roadworthy and ready for a tune this by today. Still will need an exhaust though so sometime this week will have to do.

are you gonna move the pass wiring harness into the fender too? I am gonna do that one of these days

Yeah I would really like to do that sometime. Maybe as a winter project when the car will be down for longer. I can do some dress up things. I would also like to paint my rocker covers too. Had some good ideas yesterday when they were out of the car.... ;)

Updates from Monday 03Sep07

Monday was another busy day. Got all of the oil and coolant lines to the turbo's plumbed in. Ran some of the wiring around the turbo's. That was a treat with the tight spaces under there....... My knuckles are still thanking me today.

Got the K-Member back in the car. Thanks Dave (mxracercam)! I needed the extra hands to get that beotch lined up right. Still gotta move some of the wiring tonight as it is not correct according to the install manual. What a pain trying to get the K-member in and keep all of that stuff in place..... Oh well. It will get there eventually.

While I did not get it roadworthy by yesterday, I am not very far off. Only another day or two of wrenching after work and it should be ready to fire up and get an initial tune!

Got a line on getting a custom exhaust. And still need to go get my gauges for the gauge pillar. So close, I can't wait!

Final pics are of some of the tight clearances at the moment. The motor still has to be bolted to the k-member and the manifolds need to be tightened. I will check these again after all of that. But there are some very tight clearances!

Tony. This is possibly the gayest install ever! :shake: Mainly because I dont have any of this  Can't wait to see it in person!!

Great work Tony! Sure looks pretty. Don't see many people making this steady of progress and actually sticking to their timeline pretty closely.
