My Turbo Install Thread

Cranked on the car some more tonight. Not a good night for me. Discovered the AIR pump relocation bracket does not fit my particular AIR pump. Also broke my temperature sensor for the intake while swapping that out. DOH! Took off the front bumper beam & marked it for trimming, unbolted most of the K-member components in preparation for dropping the K-Member, and trimmed the hood latch bracket. Most of the stuff is prepped for re-assembly now. Anyone that wants to lend a hand let me know. I can use it now for many of the next steps. I am still targeting getting this roadworthy by next Monday. So their may be a thrashing party at my house all weekend!

More pics from tonight. I need to get some more tools to trim the bumper. My angle grinder is not fine enough to make a clean cut.

is a 2000 pump the same? you can have mine if it will work

I've got an '01 and an '02 AIR pump I think. They're up in Lansing. Let me know if you want me to bring it down after this weekend. :)

I need whatever year looks like this one to fit this bracket. I am not sure which it is. I will have to look these up in the SPO system tomorrow to confirm. As you can see it is different that my set-up.... Hopefully the wiring is the same so I can still plug it in. Thanks guys!

is it backwards and upside down

I think it is a whole different pump housing. The one on my car is larger diameter and not as long as the one in the pictures from their website. Their bracket does relocate it for clearance to the intake charge pipes.

Damn Tony she is lookin purdy! I get back in from out of town and this thing is almost done...you are determined! Keep at it so we can hear it spooling asap.:rockwoot:

its yours

Murrays in lake orion have tr6's. I'm gonna get a new set this week too.. Gonna order some 7's from jegs or something also. 200shot:secret:

I may just take all of that off now. Everyone seems to think I should. I was just following the instructions for the install. And the pump was part of it. I guess it would take some weight off of the front to remove it. Ha ha.

Are you keeping your cats or trying to stay emissions legal?

I have an ORYP that'll mate up to the stock headers/catback and some extra gaskets that you're welcome to. They too are up in the garage in Lansing. :)

Well I could have used a Hooker Y-pipe to the stock exhaust with this kit. But I took all of the stock exhaust off of the car. Was planning to run the recommended 3" duals. Will probably have to tow it up to one of the muffler shops to have it put on and then get my tune. Or maybe get a safe tune and drive it there with no exhaust....:gr_devil:
