Big thanks to Machinist Mark (Mark Smith) for the phone call today!

Here's the story:
Truck was sitting in front of this address in Detroit for the last 4-5 days.
15370 Stout St.
Detroit, MI 48223

A lady named Sharon called the DPD and said there was what she believed was a stolen truck and trailer sitting out in front of her house. They didn't respond so the next day she went down to the dept. and actually took pictures of my truck along with the license number and said to them "This truck is just sitting out here and doesn't belong to any of the neighbors, I'm sure its stolen."

Well, Detroit PD again did nothing....

So, she noticed the web address on the back of the trailer that had been left on there by me. It is an address to a business owned by the guy who I bought the trailer from. She told him his trailer was there and he said it wasn't his any more. So, he contacted Machinist Mark and Mark called me today with the good news.

So, I drove down there and got my stuff back! Locks were broken, and trans doesn't shift quite right, but other than that its in good shape. Oh, they did steal my generator out of the trailer.... But, they left the tie down straps....lol

I'm really thankful to have my dad's truck back and I'm thankful for helpful neighbors in Detroit.

Dan

make sure you let the DPD and your local PD know that it has been recovered, and contact your ins. co. to cover repairs

Good news for a good guy ...looks like your insurance company gets to buy you a new Gennie and a new trans ,,, DPD wont finger print it ...they wont even finger print when people get car jacked and get thier cars back ...

That is seriously ridiculous. I can't believe they just don't care about stolen vehicles. I've heard stories about them being worthless but I always thought it was just people exaggerating. NWA wrote a song that expresses how I now feel...

File a complaint with the DPD.... No, it won't get you far yet, but it will add to the number of complaints they have to deal with while they are being fined $1,000 a day... How much do they owe now?

call and leave a message with chief W. Evans. than call fox 2.

im sure they would like to do a story on how you got your own car back with help from a dedicated detroit citizen, when the dpd wouldnt do shit.

awesome you got it back.

i used to work that area, Brightmore. its a dumping ground.

Glad to hear you recovered your truck and trailer. :) Nice to see that there are still good citizens out there. :bigthumb:
