I actually did contact Fox2 with the story. The woman who I talked to today on the phone (Sharon) wasn't there when I picked up the truck... I was kinda bummed 'cause I wanted to meet her and I wanted to give her a check as a way of just saying thank you. But some other lady came out of the house next door claiming she was Sharon's mother, etc...and I just didn't know if she was telling me the truth or not. So, I didn't give her any money. But if i do end up saying thank you to Sharon in this way (which I plan to do) Fox2 wants to be there to do story on it.
With all the crap going on in the city, in my mind it is worth celebrating an honest citizen down there who went out of her way to help someone out. That needs to be in the news, IMO.

absolutely. the honest residents of the city rarely get any credit. there are alot of good people in detroit. but are far surpassed by the azzholes.

I had a Cutlass stolen years ago. A guy from Detroit called me and told me my car was sitting in front of his house in Detroit. He found my name on some paper work in the glove box and tracked me down. I drove right over there and called Detroit's finest they said well you got your car back what do you want us to do? I tried to give the guy a reward that found it he wouldn't take anything.

You guys dont really understand how bad Detroit has gotten ..I had jury duty for a 3rd time loser ,car jacked a girl at gun point ...they caught him and never finger printed the car ...we found him guilty ..i asked the Judge why the car wasnt printed ?? he looked at me and asked if I was from the suburbs ..i said yes and he said Carjacking's and thefts are as common in detroit as somebody running the stop signs in my neighbor hood ...It would take an army of cops to follow up and investigate and print every stolen car that ends up in detroit ...now throw a body in the trunk and they might wanna come out and see it !!

Lol it's almost comical to think what else is going on in that city at the same time somebody is calling in about a stolen car.

Also DPD doesn't have the man power to do it... They are serverly under staffed as it is...

Sadly, it almost makes you think the DPD is in on the chop shops running in the city. They get a little pay off to stay away from a certain area for one month and all is good.
As another side note, what a good way to make a few bucks. Steal a vehicle and when they post a reward, it magically appears parked on a side street. You show up and pay, and knowing there will be no finger printing, there is no justice served to the criminals.
