My next phone...

Just backed up all of my Pre contacts on a gmail account. What a PITA....but at least I'm not stuck with everything defaulting to my Palm profile. 3 1/2 weeks until I'm up for an upgrade and can't wait!! :)

Just waiting for my InvisibleShield to arrive and for BB to get their Platinum Series cases back in stock, and the phone will be all set. Still downloading apps like a madman trying to see what I like and what I don't. Overall, still very impressed with it.

Mine should come today after the debacle with Sprint not being able to activate phones Friday evening coupled with Best Buy selling my pre-ordered phone before I got back in town. F- Best Buy and just ordered from the Sprint site. Should have done that to start with.

I can't make this shit up. I ordered the phone through Sprint's site. Supposed to come today, checked tracking, the plane it was on from Louisville to here got delayed and the UPs tracking delivery got rescheduled for tomorrow. How the fuck does it end up taking a week to get a phone that you had pre-ordered?

stopped by the verizon store today and was told the HTC Incredible is now 2 months backordered due to the screens aren't being produced quick enough.

I F'in give up.

Seems like the stores are getting them fairly quickly and the waiting lists aren't lasting long. Although you're going to get one, I'd suggest that anyone looking go to the nearest Sprint store and put their name on the list and wait for a few days. Talking to a few people who work at both BB and Sprint, this phone has been a huge success, and it's also one that more people are buying out of contract than normal. A good shot of life for Sprint.

I'm really anxious to see what Sprint comes up with to replace the Hero. There was a rumored HTC Legend in the works, which had the 1 gHz Snapdragon and an improved screen, along with the optical pad instead of a trackball, but I haven't heard a confirmation on a final carrier.

Get the Motorola Droid Xtreme/Shadow or whatever they are calling it.

Yeah, after UPS rescheduled delivery for tomorrow I checked again later and they attempted delivery today despite earlier having rescheduled, whatever. Needed signature, picked it up at UPS tonight.

I got a different Task Killer that was getting a lot of good reviews on an Android forum, TaskPanel. I thought it sounded better than Advanced Task Killer and still free.

I'll look for lookout. I found a scientific calculator, you know you're a nerd when that's the 2nd app you downloaded.

Verizon Guy said Droid 2 due out in fall ~thanksgiving.

When's the Extreme/Shadow due out? And PLEASE tell me it has a button keyboard and is not touch screen. I HATE touchscreen keyboards.

(yes I know the incredible is touchscreen)

This is the Droid Xtreme:

Droid 2 has a keyboard, and by all indications the Droid Xtreme does not.

Droid Xtreme coming out in July.

I might have to try that TaskPanel. I do find a lot of apps open/running that I don't go in and start. One thing I'd hope they fix down the road in their software.

Also, I don't like how it doesn't recognize a 7-digit phone number the same as a 10-digit without the area code. Found that you can't search by initials like I could on my Pre either. Battery life hasn't been a killer yet, we'll see as I get more time on the phone, since I've been at work a lot the past two days.

I love this thing. The size isn't that bad. People were blowing that way out of proportion. It fits nicely in the same front pocket as my wallet.

Battery life isn't looking bad so far. Both it and my work phone are Micro-USB which is awesome. I have chargers for both everywhere now.

I think some of those apps that start themselves are HTC things and not Android things. I tired deleting the fucking Peep app, can't do it. I tried deleting the Calculator as I don't need two. Can't do that either. You delete it and you find another app started itself, the OE software installer App thing.

Can you Root the Evo? I've read there are apps that can do things that look every bit as nice as Sense. I'll dump Sense if it will let me get rid of some crap like Peep then. I don't need anything to do with Twitter on my phone.

I saw an article about deleting unwanted apps from the phone, but haven't tried it yet. I've also not found a root that's worthwhile. There was one right at launch, but that was quickly fixed with the OTA update that handled the memory card issues as well.

The other issue that people seem to report is crappy WiFi coverage. I haven't had any issues yet, but compared to other phones, it picks up the signal worst of the bunch. Wonder if/when the OTA update will be out for that.

I still can hope & wait that we get Froyo in the next few months to really take this phone to the next level.

I was having issues with it connecting to my home wifi last night. The 3G was working fast enough for the stuff I was doing though. I'm sure the update would have been faster with wifi but it was running in the background and not slowing the phone down, it wasn't a big deal.
