My next phone...

$80 before my discount is still cheaper than what any other carrier can offer. Hell, I only used 1 minute of my 450 anytime minutes because of the free mobile to mobile (any carrier). What other company even comes close to that?

I'm definitely willing to pay an extra $10

Yes, Grand Rapids is now on the list. Follows with their typical pattern of hit cities along the interstates on the way to the next big city. Grand Rapids is on the way to Detroit from Chicago so it makes sense. Grand Rapids is a recent addition. They're expanding it aggressively.

PDANet (an Android application) allows you to tether via USB. Once root access to the phone is achieved, wifi tethering is possible. Right now on my BlackBerry, I use a program called Tether, which can tether with USB and Bluetooth. They're working on an Android application as well.

how the hell is grand rapids on the way from detroit to chicago?

It's not the way I drive but if you are creating network stuff from Chicago to Detroit, Grand Rapids and Lansing make sense as things to do along the way across. Kalamazoo doesn't count. AT&T doesn't even have 3G there  Why would Sprint need 4G covereage when the competition isn't even close.

From by the Sprint site, the Evo will be $199 with "a 2-year contract or $150 upgrade". I'm guessing I can't sign a new contract (I currently have no contract w/them) and use my $150 upgrade to get this phone for $49. Anybody know off hand?

I'm switching from AT&T and the sprint store told me $199...there gonna waive the mail in rebate I'm assuming the guy's going to make bank off me

It's "or" not "and". So you either have a new contract OR you upgrade. Plus, the $150 upgrade is what you pay, not a discount to knock it down to make it $50.

Aha. I'm at that time where they're telling me I'm able to save $150 by upgrading to a new phone. Every phone that's in stock that I look at, they list the price including the $150 taken off. I thought it was the same thing.

Well, if it's a discount of $150 it'll be from the retail price not the with-contract price. I don't see how they would let you have it for $50. Maybe though. I'm just going off what you said in the quotations. I'm no expert.

I didn't think so either, but it doesn't say I can't do both. I'm sure they'll tell me that though. Once the phone becomes available I'll be able to see what I can get it for through the site anyway.

I thought i read that the EVo was going to cost $449 outright. I just signed with Sprint a few months back and will have to pay full price if I decide to go with it. I started with a Blackberry Curve, and recently switched to a Samsung Moment. The 2.1 update came out for the Moment the other day too.

The Sprint navigation on the Moment sucks balls. If the EVO's works as good as it did on my Crackberry, i'll switch.
