I dont really concider my car a "race gas" motor. Compression is in at about 11.5-11.8:1. With the aluminum heads I can run pump gas in it and the race gas I use is turbo blue. While some might concider that race gas but I dont. When I htink of race gas I think of c16. Yes ricks car runs bad ass for sure!!! Its 400+ cubes and 11:1 so id imagine its borderline also but its still bad ass. Some guys can go big with cubes, some others have to make the best with 350 cubes so alitttle compression helps.

How fast do you thing a n/a 23 degree headed 355 10-1 compression chevy can go? in a 3,000 lb. vehicle with driver and fuel?

im not a chevy guy so I know zero bout them. I know of a few mid 10 cars that have 350 chevys in them.

it could go 13's or it could go 8's how much money do you have to dump in it.. whats all done to it what cam, what compression, what intake, what rings, etc.. ... the list goes on forever.. you could have all kinds of good parts but nothings matched with the other and it could run like a total pile of shit..

It took me and my builder six weeks of playing dyno on the comp. to even come up with the baseline cubic inch, what heads and cam to run in my motor.. its def gunna make good power for what i'll have into it.. under 5k is the target carb to oil pan..
 
looks great ,my 88 i just picked up is rotted at the strut towers more so at the framerail just below the strut tower on the passenger side ,you think it is going to be alot of work,i like what you've done with yours.

probably, but just a fyi, I have a rust free, straight core support/frame rail strut whatever.

It is just a stock 351 shortblock. Its all in good fun anyways. You get that truck running good next year we will have to race.

:roll: You and Golden shouldnt get your hopes up, I dont even have a job let alone the money to build a motor. IF*** I'm lucky i'll be able to afford to freshen up the motor this year with a new crankshaft (my snout is bent and has been causing an oil leak) and refurbish the front suspension. Any kind of good botom end parts and cylinder heads are pretty much out of the picture at this point. Oh yeah and I have to re-wire the entire vehicle and plug all the holes in the firewall and put some new doors on it and fix the body. At this point I can afford to do none of it, shit I've been borrowing money from my parents for gas in my escort.

I was just stiring the pot a bit. I wasn't talking trash because I have nothing to compete with your truck. Your truck is sweet though, I love first gen S-10s.:peelout:
