My 88 coupe project pic's

I did a little more work on the car tonight. I primered the firewall where the a/c stuff used to come through. It looks pretty good from where i welded it up and bondo'd it, but i can see it still needs some more sanding- nothing major though. I also wire- wheeled and POR- 15'd a few small areas that had some rust on it. I gotta get some sheet metal so i can make up my inner fender aprons. Then i can start fitting those. I'm hoping to have the car back on the ground rolling by the end of next week.

Kicked butt on the stang tonight. In three hours time i fabbed and installed the last patch panel for the dr. side front framerail in the strut tower area. Put a little lightweight filler on it and sanded it down to blend it in somewhat. Also POR-15'd the front framerails. Once the paint dries the front suspension can start going back on. I still have to install the c-clip eliminators and POR-15 the housing. This thing will be a roller again in about another week. WOO-HOO!

Thanks. Unfortunately, it's gonna have to run around in primer for awhile until i get the money to paint it.

So its coming out this year?

Mine will be pretty but slow. I always do the go fast stuff first and they never end up pretty. This time I am doing it backwards.

Looks like its getting there.

I worked on the car again tonight. I discovered i have a small problem with my coil-over setup. There is a cap on top of the Strange strut i'm using where the shaft comes out. It won't allow the UPR sleeve i'm using to slide all the way down. I think i can just remove the cap and i'll be OK. Gotta find out for sure though first. I'm calling UPR tomorrow. I put a set of old stock struts i had lying around on the car just so i could mock up the front suspension. I got the K member mounted and all the suspension stuff put on tonight. Just have to get some wheel bearings and i can mount my discs and front wheels. One or two VERY minor things and the front will be done for now. Then it's on to installing the C-clips and rear axles. After that it is officially a roller again!

Buttoned up the front end today. Put the skinnies on and set the front back on the ground. First time in awhile it's been off the front jackstands.

FedEx just dropped off my ring gear bolts, pinion nut and T-Lok clutches.
WOO-HOO!!! The 8.8 will be fresh and ready by the end of the week.
