LSx into Porsche. . . and I'm going to need some help

if you pm'd joe he isn't on motown as much anymore
a phone call during business hours is the best way to reach him

Your "just a Camaro" is one of the cleanest cars I've ever laid eyes on. If you cut the hole, then it must be legit.
Haha thanks. It still has its purpose though, Im going to be doing more cutting on it this winter ;)

I'm not looking forward to that bolt either... Btw did you ever find a price on those springs/shocks? Im going to order those soon.

Wow, so you got that Camaro for $1500?? Sweet deal. I like the look of the old wheels better, but I really can't argue with wide rear meats!

When you get this done I will be more than welcome to drive that Lambo for you...... I hate to see it sit ya know

did you see the build on ls1tech someone did the same thing..it came out really well.
yours is going to be just as good imo.

You were 99% of the way there and you didn't change the cam??!?!?!?

The oil pressure sender breaks all the time. You may won't need it depending on how you're planning on hooking up a pressure gauge. The PCM doesn't need to know oil pressure so you can block it off there if you want. In my '70, I run the original gauge in the cluster from that port and a secondary gauge from a port at the oil filter.

If you need a different water neck check out CSR. http://www.csr-performance.com/shop...ermostat-housing---for-ls1-with-1.5-inch-hose It comes out straight instead of the angle on the stock housing. It also uses a standard SBC thermostat (so you can change temperature rating) instead of the stock integrated one.

If you're thinking of changing the damper, the only other option other than stock to consider is the ATI. You can get "blemished" units direct from ATI for about half the cost of new. I've ordered two of them and they're only paint defects. If you're interested, I can send you the contact guy's email address. Either way, put an ARP crank bolt in there.

Power Washer!! Valvecovers and oilpan off? I'd powerwash it inside and out. :)

Looks great, factory fresh.

This will be a blast to drive. if you get bored, then it's time for a cam. Goodluck on progress!

I did think about getting a bigger cam, but then I would do valve springs, rockers, and pushrods. This is a budget build, so those things are not necessary.

Thanks for the info on the oil pressure sensor.

Thanks for the ATI heads up. I'll probably keep it stock, but that might be a good option.

Budget build LS1 swap into a 911. Riiiight. ;) When you're ready, a cam kit with cam, springs, and pushrods will be ~$600 (plus a trip to Dr Phil for tuning). http://www.thunderracing.com/shop-b...Thunder-Racing-Complete-Cam-Packages_946.html

If you're looking to make it look a little prettier, you can pop the heat shields off of the exhaust manifolds and then shoot the manifolds with some high temp engine paint. I did mine in a silver color and they still look decent after 8 years.

I'm excited to drive this. The Renegade parts shipped out, so the car should hit the streets next week. :D

Awesome. Can't wait to see video.

Which way will the front cover face when it's installed? Will a cam swap be able to be done with the motor in the car or will it have to come out?

you need oven cleaner haha baked on oil falls right off, esp if you can get them hot.

also you can twist off that oil fill neck and the cap will screw right in to the valve cover
