Look what I bought Saturday((HELP))

Who said its cuz it was fresh and he drove it on the freeway is bullshit and your a tard.

I've built so many engines and blasted them to over 8k right after the cam break in with no problems. I ran engines on dynos that were brand fucking new 460 ford crate engines and rapped them to 6500 and let them sit there for two days without shutting them off. RPM is not a killer if the shit was built right.

The ways Scott, Roushy, and roushy lil brother all right off the bat jumped into defending themselves and names makes me think somethings fishy.

OWNED

Hey Dickhead < your the only one doing the name calling here buddy.

Who knows how hard he revved it on the freeway or if the motor was fresh.

You said the motor was fresh and now your saying who knows if it was? Did you change it or somthing?>

I know I wouldn't run my motor at that high RPM for a long time but that's me.

Thats your opinion but from my EXPERIENCE it doesn't matter it won't hurt the motor unless there ways a tight valve guide to start with or a wrong spring height that was casuing some bind, maybe that was the noise you heard.

I don't have to defend anything.

Then why did you right off the bat try to clear your name?

I sold the car AS-IS after having it for 2 weeks and driving it twice.

You said before you drove it three times?

I passed on the info that I was given I have no idea what was true or false. Kinda strange that it blew up just sitting in his driveway Sunday and he waited till Wednesday to post Oh well.

Some people have a life other than the intenet. Maybe he waited till he had it apart for pictures like most normal people.

I do appreciate your worthless opinion and name calling.

Where did I call names? Your the one all pissy here calling me a dickhead?>[/quote]

hmmm...

OWNED AGAIN

That had to of taken some extreme work to make a 2.02 valve fit in the do0e head. I had a 1.94/1.60 in a set once and it was TIGHT!

ya.... you could say that.... with the head off and cold i could only fit a buisness card between 'em. i would hate to see 'em hot

If the motor doesn't have the parts in it that it was supposed to that is not my fault. Right ? I thought it was a nice chassis and had thought about building/buying a 351 if I kept it. I'm not defending anyone maybe I was fooled too but it didn't matter because the trade seemed good even if the motor was junk. I don't want to fight with anyone . I feel bad for Mike it sucks when you buy something and it breaks. I will tune in to see what is found. A lot of you guys have more knowledge on heads and cams than me so I will listen to what you figure out. I apologize to anyone that I offeneded I have had a rough week .

Well.....if you look at the runners on the heads you will see the CNC marks. If you havent heard of people CNCing E7 heads that just means you're not as into the engine building scene as some of us. You prob shouldnt have driven it on the freeway with a c-4 and 4.10's....just my .02.....car ran strong and flawless for the time I had it and Scott said it ran good for him the month he had it too. Yes, I'm an engine builder and yes I know what I'm doing......and stock pistons that year were forged, thanks. I havent owned the car for a month now so I dont know what was done to it since then or what/how you drove it when you got it. It sucks that it happened but I was in no way "untruthful" with what I said was in it. FWIW, it looks as though a valve was hung open....like maybe over revving...???????? Let me know if you need any help with anything or have any questions.....

So are they 2.02 valves? Also I know if you a decent size cam, 2.02valves on stock pistons won't work. I had a set of Windsor heads with 2.02 valves and I had to flycut my pistons. What size cam was it?

Why wouldn't you drive a car with a c-4 with a 4.10 on the express way? Is there some rule about that? :dontknow:

I guess there isn't a big deal. I just always thought long revving like that wasn't good for a motor . Especially if it was fresh. I guess other people haven't had a problem so maybe I thought wrong. I would like to know on the valves also. Those pistons don't look cut ?

omg.....the pistons are modified on the intake side....and please take a pic of the ports so all the people saying e7's dont get cnc'd will STFU.

modified? Whats modified mean? is it possible you didn't "modify" the piston enough and the lenthgy trip on the freeway at speed got the valve hot enough (since you and scott never really drove it) to grow enough that it kissed the piston because there wasn't proper valve to pistons clearance.

Since your a pro engine builder why don't you post up a picture of your build sheet with all the clearances and tolerances that you measured and check on everything during assembly... including the valve to piston clearance on the number 2 EXHAUST valve

I never said there was a rule about it, I just wouldnt make it a normal practice.

I really think it was over revved regardless of what he is saying.....JUST MY OPINION. Why would it drive home fine then start the next day, backfire thru the carb and thats it....???????

Oh yeah, the timing was set at 10 degrees initial when i gave it to Scott....some ass said something about 40 degrees????????

Are the valves 2.02's?

Who are you to mock me? The builsheet is at work in the clean room where i built it at. I told Scott this when we traded and he said it was no big deal and not to worry about it. You dont know me so what gives you the right to question me?

Just for the record, I had to rebuild the trans in the car I got from Scott the second day I had it. Did I start a post crying about it? NO. Shit happens. Buy a brand new car if you dont want to worry about shit like that....oh wait, that shit happens to new cars too........And in no way am I blaming Scott for anything. me and him talked about the trans issue already so dont anybody start new shit about that.....F$%ckin soap opera around here.....Im done with this.

Mock you? Where did I mock you? I'm just some guy who thinks somethings fishy here and welp out of pure interest I wanted to test your intergrity about it; your not doing so well so far.

Its good to know you don't stand behind your work as a "proessional engine builder" I'm sure that will get you lots of business and future sales on here.

If you can verify it was a problem with the build and not misuse or neglect it would make it a clear case one way or the other.

In all fairness he didn't sell the car to the present owner. The car could have been hurt between the time he sold it, until now.

I'm only questioning the ad. If he claimed the engine had parts it didn't, that would be my problem with this whole thing.

True, I'm open ended on this and still waiting on those pics of the v.s. retainers... also maybe pics of all the push rods layed out and the tops of the cylinders/pistons.

If he over rev'd it its more than likely to have whitness marks on a few cylinders, chattered up retainers etc... If It it was a isolated problem on only the number two then its prob not due to over rev but something mechanical or mis-assembly.

I'd be pissed if it happened as well. I was just a middleman so I am very curious. How would you know when you get a car though ? Pull the motor apart to verify ? I guess I should have gotten more paperwork. I just wanted the chassis . I tried to buy it last year when the other motor was blown. It is a clean car still.

The current owner bought the car AS-IS from me and I drove it to my parents twice which is 2 miles away and then the same 2 miles for the test drive when Mike bought it. I only put a 5 gallon can of gas in it. Both times I drove it I took it right past the 5500 shift light but never had any problems. Although from the first day I got it when you first started it smoke came out the back for 10 seconds. I just figured it was because it was so rich. Could have been valves ? I dunno you tell me. P.S. I got it on 5-17 and sold it on 5-30 and didnt have plates for the first week I had it.
