Kittens need a good home

Hi everyone! Thom's wife here.

The kittens are very used to getting their nails cut- I do it when they're asleep, and it's nothing to me or them. They also like being brushed.

The issue with declawing isn't with the surgery itself. Cats walk on their toes as much as on their feet, and declawing shifts their balance. It's not an exact equivalent, but it's most like wearing 4"+ heels all the time. Sure, it can be done, but it hurts, and it takes its toll on your body over time. It's one thing to choose that for yourself, but inflicting it on an animal is just cruel. Now, if the choice comes down to keeping the cat and declawing it, or getting rid of it/putting it down, of course declawing is the better option. But it should be the last resort, not the first stop on the way home.

I'm sure they would be fine with a dog once they got used to one another. I know a huge part of the problem was that they were in a funny smelling new place (smokers, dogs and carpets, none of which we have), with new people, and a dog was frantically trying to check them out. By the end of the weekend, the dog was allowed in the kitten room uneventfully.

So did you know Tom wore blouses when you married him? Or did he tell you about that on the honeymoon?

You guys have anything typed up with pics on FB? If so let me know or have Thom send it to me and I will share it. I have a lot of animal contacts and friends on my page.
