How do I stop my 91 fox doors from jumping when I hit bumps in the road?

I have a 91 5.0 Mustang convertible and when ever I hit bumps in the road the doors jump up and down as if they're not closed properly. The frame is tied and the body is in very good condition with no rust. Also does anyone know the "True" gross wieght-I've looked everywhere and can't find it.Thanks..

isn't there an extra stabilizing pin on the pillar on the 'verts? seems to me they were supposed to stop that.


i'd suppose the vehicle weight would be 3300-3400 lbs.

Not sure, but both door shouldn't shake like I'm hittin a bunch of moguals out on the trail should it?
 
Tried tighting both pins at the paint shop and they told after a while they just don't hold anymore?? (I had a 93 GT convertible and a 92 that never did this) I will try a new set. (Strikers were tightned not the pins)

Wrong pins. The ones that are toward your fender go bad.

They all go bad eventually.....I would say do them all if your going to replace any nof them...it will be nice and tight like new P*****...lol
 
How is the post on the body where the door latchs. there should be a plastic sleeve and they wear and break.
 
if the pins and latch are good then you need to install frame ties. That fixed my problem (86 vert) you could actually push down on the rear quarter panel and watch the door gap widen specialy when the top is down and this was on a rust free car.
