Seems like a pretty good deal if you qualify. I am kind of bummed out that it only applies if you don't have a degree. It seems like something paid for by the state should apply to everyone in the state. I guess I will be sitting at Macomb next fall as the only sucker actually paying myself...

To be eligible, you must:

- Be at least 25 years old when you apply

- Have lived in Michigan for a year or more

- Have a high school diploma or equivalent

- Have not yet completed a college degree (associate or bachelor’s)

Dam socialism
If it was socialism, it would be the same for everyone, and it is not. It is discriminatory against people who went out and got a degree already. I would call it "Liberalism".

Interesting, when did this start?
I think it was in Whitmer's budget last fall. Looks like it starts with summer semester this year if you can get your Federal Aid Papers through the system in time. The state is making you apply for Federal aid first, probably so that they don't get stuck footing the bill for students that are Pell eligible. But you don't have to get approved for Federal to get in the program, you just have to apply and get turned down.

My Daughter who will be 21 does not apply. She will have her associates end of this spring.
Looks like daddy (me) gets to keep paying. Based on her age and almost having her associates.

Interesting...
I did not read all of the rules and criteria.
When they post something like below, it seems misleading, but as mentioned I did not read all of the lingo.

Maybe I have been hustling for years and make a decent wage with no degree, but still want.
Since I am making it, then I can probably afford to pay and therefore would not qualify.
I'll always believe in the saying, nothing is free.
