There are just a few major oil filter manufacturers. Champion Labs makes OEM Motorcraft, OEM GM on some applications, AC, Valvoline, AutoZone and the Mobil 1 filter. Purolator makes the aftermarket MotorCraft, Group 7 and Mopar. Wix makes NAPA and CarQuest. And of course there is Fram.

Oberg Tattle tale.

Why spend thousands on an engine and skimp on an oil filter. Paper elements are fine for street cars, not tricked out / hi-po engines.

I use motorcraft only. Had a buddy tell me he put a Fram PCV valve on his 91 GT, couple days later the car was making some bad noises, after tearing the motor down he found the metal spring and othr components of the PCV valve had fallin into the valve covers and cycled through the motor...

Granted Fram is junk and everyone knows it.. Id take detailed pictures of the filter and it caving in and all the bearing material etc.. Then contact people at FRAM and see what they think.. Get pissed and demand something.. Doubt much will come of it but maybe they'll actually stand behind their product? ? isnt that extra gaurd supposed to be their "superman" filter or something.

Fram would probably just say somthing like "The engine this filter was used on was highly modified and beyond the working capacities of our filter, but heres a coupon for half off your next Fram purchase!"

yeah i was looking at those on jegs website, also moroso sells one thats good for high oil pressure

The Extra gaurd is a fiberglass filter.

Fram had actually baught a buddy of mines truck from him due to oil filter failure. They admitted that it was the oil filters fault. It also had a sbc in it.

Fram filter are JUNK. I can't say how much I hate FRAM. It cost my bro a fresh engine. Filter came apart and went through the engine. What a waste. Called Fram and they told me since I was running a High volume pump that it was my fault. DONT ever use a fram for anything.

Beat me to it.

That $10 filter cost me over $4000. I will NEVER buy fram again.
