Fram extrajunk oil filter

so last pass i made i heard some noises loading the truck on the trailer, checked oil ....good, had oil pressure too. got it home and drained oil into a bucket 8qts, lots of bearing material in the oil. turbo bearing had lots of play.
thought id pull the oil filter off and take a look, the brand new fram extraguard filter had internally exploded or caved in. the rubber seal inside the oil filter was covering 3/4 of the main oil hole in the center of the filter. causing the motor to starve of oil. turbo bearing was shot, all bearings shot, crank needs turned and rods resized.i also have the billet bypass elimnator where the filter screws onto. whats the best oil filter to use? the billet cleanable one?
what do you guys use?
thought these were suposed to be good filters :headscrat
motor had 80psi cold but always put heat into the motor before a pass or revving it up

That's sucky. I've heard of a few horror stories from Fram oil filters. On my BB Dodge, I run a Wix filter. What kind of motor is in the car?

small block chevy

i thought for once i could put this bitch away for the year and not have to tear the whole motor down...........lol all over a shitty ass 6$ filter

Yeah that sucks, could of told you not to run FRAM. They have a bad rep for doing just what you said. Although some people have good luck with them. I just spend the extra money for K&N, if thats not available I go to Mobil 1. Never had a problem.

Fram blows, theres all kinds of horror stories on this. I'd use a no-name before Fram. I usually use Wix or Motorcraft, what kind of car? you can get filters from the dealer that are good. The Mobil and K+Ns are pretty damn expensive IMO.

Fram filter are JUNK. I can't say how much I hate FRAM. It cost my bro a fresh engine. Filter came apart and went through the engine. What a waste. Called Fram and they told me since I was running a High volume pump that it was my fault. DONT ever use a fram for anything.

On my truck, AC Delco filters no matter what. I have seen so many Fram filters fail that I wouldn"t use one as a paper weight.

yeah.....but.......John Force uses them on his top fuel dragster..............so............There...............

lol his are gutted...its just the outter housing lol

i figured its due to me using the oil bypass eliminator
forcing to much oil thru at high psi. well now i know not to use fram
just sucks destroying my motor over a 6 dollar filter

Unfortunally it always is the case with performance. The turbine car that almost won Indy in 1969 went out on the last lap because of a $5 bearing.

Sorry to hear about the truck.
