Slow down! .... I didnt not run this motor. I dont know if it smoked or what not.. By the bearing apperance i dont see it knocking. The main bearings look ok, so I would assume oil pressure would have been o.k.

I just think the piston to wall clearence was to tight or it was set for a n\a motor and he was throwing some bottle at it and didnt expect the pistons to grow as much as they did which tighten'd up the top end .. tight makes friction fricton = heat.. out come blued rod ends and some scuffed up pistons..


Please dont jump to accuse him until he speaks up, I want to hear what he has to say first...

I just called him from work and left a voice mail, hopefully i'll get a call back and then go from there.

welp.. Talked with dave.. he said he got the motor which was assembled by alternative motors.. if i remember correctly dont quote me though..

The engine was fresh out of machining.. He ran it on a engine stand for break-in purposes and then set the motor to the side and never ran it again.. It was then traded to blackbird who didnt run the motor either..

So.. It could have been that the motor was set-up wrong and piston to wall clearances were incorrect.. It could have gotten hot on the stand when running break-in and gone un-noticed.. not sure. I could be getting a line of shit and nothing is what I was told but who knows..

I dont see me getting anything out of this but a huge argument and a bunch of pissed off people pointings fingers..

SO I'll be the man in this, check my losses and move on..
