For Shaun ---- stock LS1 vs stock 2011 5.0

roll race or dead dig? Auto or 6 speed? I didn't know LS1's had CAI's, camaro or Firebird?

The car is owned by a friend of mine so there was no funny business going on, sandbagging etc.

who races from a roll?
we raced from a stand still with a traffic signal calling the green.

manual's in both car's, it was a Firebird.


I believe it was a K&N kit for the CAI
 
Over the wekend I ran a 2002 LS1 with Long tubes, no cats 3" exhaust, single bullet style muffler, CAI, pullies and guess what.......

we were DEAD even raced 5 times every time the same. Dead even.

Stock LS1= I will win
Bolt on LS1= even or advantage LS1 depending on bolt ons.

That youtube video is bullhit.

How can you determine that vid is bs by your race? Maybe I missed it or it's in the SVT forum, but did he say what his gearing was relative to yours, or if he had an auto? It looked like they were one and one, it's not like the SS dominated it or something.
 
4th gen camaros are generally a little quicker than Firebirds and Trans Ams due to a weight difference. No one is ever going to know if the video is bullshit or not. I have seen bone stock z28s run 12.80's, and some run 13.30's. Huge differences between stock vehicles.
 
Ok credibility aside let the motor and everything break in then do the race....

It was an 02 WS6 6 speed with, Hooker Long Tubes, ORY and a 3" Dynomax catback with a bullet, He's got an SLP lid and filter. John is also very comfortable driving the car.

I watched from another car and both cars were dead even.

I bet that sounds good.

I had a similar set up, exhaust wise, but with mid length headers with my old car, it was the best sounding LS1 I've heard yet.
 
A stock 02 Fbody with a good drive vs the equivilent in a new 5.0 should be a good race. Both dip in the 12's with good air.

We could make the same post on ls1tech with the outcome reversed and get the same mentality from the other side. I personally think roll racing is very subjective and a retarded way to judge speed. No less on a public road.

my dad has a STOCK LS1...only mod he did was a K&N filter, not even a CAI...
01 6 speed stripper model.. no t-tops, no power anything..
 

how many "variations" have we seen just in this thread about a "stock" LS1...long tubes, full exhaust, tune, CAI, gears, DR's,

his is the closest you can get to stock..other then 100% factory...and good luck finding a factory car 10 years later :LOL:
