I may be selling my ported vic jr's. if interested.
In my opinion that
s too much head for a cruiser and well mannered wife cruiser. I would stick with GT40 alum X or Y heads Edelbrock Performer or RPM heads, AFR 165 or 180 TFS street heads. All those heads will do over 300 without being overkill(vic jr overkill) with a decently mannered cam.
IMPO using the Vic Jr will need a looser converter, and more cam to make it work right. Using the Y or X, performer, or 165 heads will give you tons of useable torque under 6K RPM and still be more than enough to hit the HP number you're looking for. The bigger heads, TFS, RPM, 185 etc will still net you the torque and HP but may require a looser converter to make it feel right and will give you more power above 6K.
But i'm just a dumb backwoods idiot, so take my opinion for what it's worth. I have only built 15 or so of these for myself and friends, and they all do exactly what they were built for.
347+165 sized head+520/530 cam= tons of torgue and 300+ HP all day on 93 octane gas with a relatively tight converter. If using an AOD chek out TCI 433100 converter. Retains lock up, will stall to 3000+ on that combo and has great street manners. It's old school, but works.

Best of Luck!
Edit: the P heads will work, but like, Derek, said will be the restriction of the combo. You will have the torque, but may lack HP. All in the selection of the cam.
