Changes to the coupe

Thanks guys!!!!!!

I have been working on it very slowly this winter and have made a good bit of progress. Here are the things that have gotten done:

1. EFI wiring is in the car
2. Fuel pump brackets fabbed up and in the car
3. Shifter wiring completed
4. Trans cooler lines made
5. Throttle cable bracket fabbed and ready to install
6. new electronics panel designed, built and and almost ready to be bolted into the glove-box area
7. Oil pan modified for the block it did not want to fit
8. cam installed, degree'd, & PTV verified
9. Heads assembled

Stuff left to be done:

1. Finish assembly of long block (this weekend)
2. Install electronics panel (this weekend)
3. install AMS 1000 (hoping to have it here in a week or so)
4. install engine, trans, and driveshaft
5. Finish fuel lines on engine
6. etc
7. etc
8 etc

I'll post up more pics soon.

Cool-thanks again for the carb-too bad you don't have any c4 converters laying around.

Ha! No problem on the carb, glad you are enjoying it. Honestly, if all goes well, the car could be running by mid march. Sooner, if I stayed out of an ice rink a few days a week. LOL

We'll see...I will post vids as soon as it makes some noise.

We degree'd the cam and checked PTV and I must say these turbo cams are way easier to deal with than the nasty all motor stuff we had before where we had to fight for every thou of clearance (cutting piston pockets, etc.). Now we have a country mile of clearance with the same lift!

Looks great, I gotta get out there and see it Steve!

Joe,

Thanks for the compliment. However, I feel as if my car is going to slip into the turd catagory now with that work of art you have in your garage.

Once it's back together and on the ground, feel free to come out when ever you want. I wouldn't mind seeing the black car in person myself.

Turd category?! I think not, that thing is beautiful! You are welcome out anytime you want. I may actually need a hand bleeding brakes later this weekend if all goes well :)

So did you get the brakes bled? I got done what I wanted to this weekend..

Engine assembled (less intake - waiting for it to arrive) Had one of those "things" come up and bite me though. Dart and their wonderful machining strikes again!! Having to do some precision material removal with a die grinder after the entire short block was assembled was just friggin fantastic (masking off, and plugging a lifter bore, to keep crap from grinding on an assembled engine is great)! There wasn't enough clearance in the #1 intake lifter area for the link-bar when the lifter was down on the base circle. Not quite sure why they didn't give enough room in this area, but considering everything else we have had to fix on this damn block, I shouldn't be surprised.

Electronics panel fabbed and mounted inside dash.

Hope to have the engine back in the car very soon and get this thing back together.

Sounds like you're making good progress Steve! I had similar issues with my Dart block also, but not in the lifter bore area(my crank wouldn't spin without hitting the main cap webbing)...

I didn't quite get my brakes done, I've been busy finishing up a side project for a friend this weekend.

This is what I was taking about...They also skimped a bit on the tapped depth of nearly every hole, china wall needed to be cleaned up since it had multiple steps in it, the rear of the intake had to be welded up because of the goofy contour that the rear china wall has. All of the pipe tap holes, we not tapped for standard plugs (plugs stick out rather than being anywhere near flush., etc., etc.
