Changes to the coupe

that kinda looks like a brass T in the wastegate, it might be the lighting but......if it is, remove it and replace with stainless steel.

It's not brass, it's yellow zinc plated steel. Besides, I ain't paying $30 for a stainless pipe fitting from McMaster Carr....that's getting a bit rich for my blood, when I only paid $2.47 for this one at a local hardware store. ;)

Over on the Bullet Seb said that he had seen both aluminum and brass fittings crack from the weight of the sensor dangling off the end of the gate. I would have though it would have mattered, but there were a few others that had problems with fittings other than steel breaking.

According to Seb from NLR, due to vibration, the brass WILL break. And could/will cause engine damage. He learned from experience. I believe the instructions say the same thing. Alot of info about this on yellowbullet.
Gumby= j monson, right?

Good lookin' out. As for the stainless peice, I think I'm good for now. I have already tightened everything up and would rather not take things apart unless there is a problem.

Your stuff running yet?

What does Seb. know about the AMS1000? You guys act like he invented the darn thing! I better go check that yellowbullshit site out. I have A LOT to learn!

Thank GOD we have sites like this one and yb.com. I have not been able to get good tech help since Ramchargers closed. Those guys were always so helpful.

Here's a few updated pics. Just need to button up a few more little items.

Thanks Joe..But that Black coupe is a BADDD MOFO!!! Next winter i may even cut the elbow down and put a stock hood on it...atleast it will have the sleeper effect going for it at that point.

or turn it around and aim it at the fire wall!

you would be surprised what fits under a stock hood!

Turning the elbow around would be alot of work to only put a stock hood on it, and right now I am not in the mindset of going to an A/W intercooler. If I change my mind on it in the future then its a completely different story. Cutting the elbow would meaning taking one inch out the height and welding it back together.

Damn looks great Steve!

Thanks Matt, it's definately getting there. So close, I can't stand it. LOL There are just so many little BS items that have to be fabricated, moved, modified, wired, etc, etc. Now that almost all that stuff is done, it will be easier to work on down the road, and most of it will never get touched again.

I still haven't gotten used to firing up a new engine, makes me nervous! :icon_eek:
